I like the convenience of the location. Close to everything and no need to drive to relax. I read previous reviews and find them accurate. You get what you pay for and accept those conditions. Clean sheets , wifi, and location was good

It was ok for a last min stay but the beds are awful and the rooms even tho they say non smoking still smell like thwy have been smoked in

Me & wife stayed for a long weekend at Gettysburg. Very clean & nice. Could walk right across the street for meals & shopping. Park just outside of restaurant across the street had picnic tables, walk-up bar window, and live music. Would stay here again.

I was very disapointed with the stay. After getting a third room that the manager went up and cleaned herself, we decided with it being a holiday weekend that we might as well "Rough it". The first two rooms had major cleanliness issues, a pretzel on the carpet that had mold growing around it. There was a microwave in one room that was filthy. The headboards had some kind of white film on them. The bedding had stains all over. The second room was about the same except the toilet in that one was leaking causing a black sludge around the toilet. Fingerprints all over the glass windows. The Third room we got was the "Suite", it was better because the manager went up stairs and changed the bedding, and cleaned first before we went in. The balcony had cigarettes all over. All the rooms say non-smoking but there is plastic coffee cans filled with butts everywhere. The mgr let us know that the toilet makes a noise when you flush but it still worked fine. Used the bathroom and it wouldn't flush. My husband went downstairs to the mgr and got a plunger. He plunged the toiled and cigarettes came up. I got a shower and there was hair in the drain, the shower curtain did not keep the water in, because there was no liner, so it made the floor slippery when I was getting out of the shower. I found dead bugs behind the door of the bathroom that looked very questionable. I cleaned those up. It was very filthy behind the headboard. I was expecting outdated, I wasn't expecting filthy.

This place was extremely outdated inside and out. Door to my room was not closed all the way when I first got there so being a muggy August day the room was damp. There was coffee can Butt cans outside that where mostly full and I moved the two that where outside my room not to mention all the Butt's that where all over the ground. Judging from the layers of paint and rotted wood work the room need's a makeover. Definitely never staying there again.

The Colton is a good place to stay if you are willing to sacrifice amenities for low rates.There is no breakfast other than packages pastries, no in room coffee. The outside appears run down, but the inside of my room appeared to be maintained as well as can be expected. The bathroom was clean, but there were stains on the carpet. Some guests sat outside at night and were noisy past midnight. The AC in my room worked well and there was a small refrigerator. It was a two night stay by myself and it suited my needs. I would consider somewhere else for a longer stay or with someone.

I have gone to the Colton for years. It certainly is not fancy but it has a fantastic location. I'm not in Gettysburg to sit in a hotel room, I'm here to walk the battlefield. The Colton is right in the center of things and that is what I want.
