UNSUITABLE for pilgrims.

This property is UNSUITABLE for pilgrims, despite its close proximity to the Camino del Norte. There were no washing or drying facilities for clothes beyond ones ability to improvise in the bathroom. The owner was uncontactable and did not respond to my WhatsApp message written in Spanish. They did not have a stamp for my Credencial del Peregrino to record my stay, a necessity to prove having walked the route. There were no cooking facilities beyond a microwave and the restaurant at the hotel next door was closed on the Friday evening of my stay. No other facilities nearby, and so not wanting to walk back to Getaria after a long day, I went hungry.

After a grueling day on the Camino it was a major disappointment that neither the lodging nor the village had any place to grab dinner. Had I know that I probably would not have booked here. That aside the place was comfortable and in a very scenic and quiet area. The breakfast was sufficient.

Thank you for your review Christopher. We want to clarify that Xabin Etxea is in the neighborhood of San Prudencio, which is located 2 kilometers form Getaria. There is no restaurants in San Prudencio but Getaria is crowded of the best restaurants of the Basque Country.
