We had early acces to our room, which was good. But there was dust all alongside the walls. The bed was not steady enough, very soft matras. Also, someone from the reception walked into our room while we were in it. Without knocking! Very unprofessional. There were reddish stains on the bed linnen. After mentioning this to the front desk, we said we will not come back again. And the response was, well I think we tried our best. Only apologies, no resolutions to help solve the problem or to try have us come back again…

Stayed for 2 nights, Friday & Saturday - there was a wedding reception in the hotel on the Sat night meaning that other paying guests had to listen to loud music until 3am and loud guests returning to their rooms shouting in hallways and moving furniture in rooms (which you can hear through the walls) well after 3am. After trying to call reception for over an hour with no answer, I had to get out of bed to go downstairs to complain to the night manager Arno Raemdonck about the noise, but he only offered excuses and no solutions. I was later told by one of the barstaff that the wedding was hosted by the hotel owner and that they could not shut the music off because it was the owner's party! Absolutely NO consideration for paying guests. On top of this, when we arrived on Friday, the restaurant was closed with no advance notice to paying guests (and obviously closed Saturday as well). Saturday morning the cleaners were out in the hallways at 8am making loud noise to prepare the rooms for the wedding guests. When we asked for our room to be cleaned, the towels were taken away but not replaced, no coffee/creamer was replaced, and cleaning solution was left in the room. We asked for 2 additional pillows since the ones given were flat, but we were only given 1 (we were 2 guests). The air conditioning in the room didn't work. There was a strange mattress topper on the bed which kept coming out of the sheets (which had stains on). Decor is tired and needs redoing, do not stay here!!

Bed bug!!!!

On the whole a disappointing stay. I have used hotels.com for the last 3 years, staying on average 30 nights a year and never felt I needed to leave a review until now. M Hotel Review The pictures make the hotel look very modern, but the decor was very very dated and tired. TV in room had no remote so couldn't use it for the first 2 days. Was issued with replacement remotes but these didn't work either. Ended up finding the original remote as i was leaving for check out, stuffed down the side of the bed. Coffee machine was filthy, had old sachets stuffed in it. Parking at the hotel was expensive. £12 a day. Didn't get a single good night sleep in the bed and am now covered in bed bug bites all over arms and head. Service was basic and hotel understaffed. No barman in the bar for example. You have to ask reception for a drink. Although the pictures look good dont be fooled. Not worth the expense. Stay at the Carbon hotel down the road instead.
