The view ia great, dome of the staff is wonderful, however, lack of will to enforce covid19 protocol from the ataff due the "exclusive" nature of the guests make this place mot safe in these pandemic days. If you are one of the negationists that thinks this is just another flu, this is for sure your place, otherwise avoid like hell.

Reommended
Posted 28 Jun 2020 on HotelsVery spacious room, perfectly clean and new.
The restaurant has amazing food.
There is an anti-mosquito plug in the room: don't forget to turn it on! (We did forget... :-()

Superb facilities and experience. Slightly surreal experience checking in late at night but very efficient. Will stay here on every trip to Brussels!

Nice but isolated
Posted 23 Feb 2018 on HotelsI was sceptical due to the previous low rating. The issues first. This place is isolated. In Winter there is no bar or restaurant. The mini bar is a bottle of water. So when like me you arrive at 8pm in a taxi, there is literally no one to be seen and nothing to eat. Arrival is via instructions to obtain you key fob from a night safe by the entrance - not complicated, but instructions only sent in French - would be better to send in several languages. Once inside, and into the room, things were different. The room was new, spacious, and very clean. A fantastic en-suite, huge in size, great walk in shower. TV available, beds very comfortable, very quiet and a good sleep. Morning - breakfast - no instructions on where this is. Actually in a seperate building. Once found, not the most friendly of people, but the service and quality / freshness of the breakfast was very good - needed it as I hadn't eaten the previous night. I recommended to the owners to put in some kind of snacks in the mini-bar, wine, beer, soft drinks, so that people can at least have something when they arrive. WIFI was not great

Dear Sir, thank you for your feedback, it is great value to us. We will shortly place a vending machine in the lobby lounge and will make sure that our confirmation letter reaches our guests in the language they have chosen during the reservation process. We do have a 24h concierge service should you require assistance: you may call our concierge via the telephone in your room, his mobile number is also displayed at the entrance of the hotel. As we only have 14 rooms, it is very difficultr to have a reception desk manned 24h. Once again, many thanks for your comments and we look forward to welcoming you again at L'Empereur.
Kind regards,

Quiet Stay
Posted 12 Oct 2017 on HotelsHotel is about 8 minute drive from anything. Was difficult to find as hotel is far off main road along a narrow rural road. WiFi was very week. Place was clean, staff very nice, comfortable bed, good shower.

The description of the hotel is very inaccurate
Posted 19 Jul 2017
Pros: It was super modern and clean, good internet connection. Cannot comment on the golf course as we do not play
Cons: Change description of amenities which are only on offer at major events. The price paid was well in excess for what is a B&B
Location: Very pretty location, very rural. Nearest village a good drive away therefor no close facilities
Difficult to find GPS/Waze take you to the edge of a nearby village. Situated up a busy single track road. no sign on the hotel road side. Room was large, modern and very clean but soulless. We were directed to the restaurant and bar/restaurant which is separate from the hotel. We were informed by the single member of staff that no catering staff had arrived today. Therefore the ONLY available food option was a packet of chips/crisps and only 3 flavours at that!!! On leaving when we said this was a bed and breakfast not a hotel, we were then informed there are full restaurant facilities but ONLY when a tournament/event is on, however not otherwise. There is no lounge area within the hotel itself when the bar/restaurant shuts and is LOCKED at 6pm you are forced to sit in your room unless you go offsite for the amenities they cannot provide namely all those expected in a hotel. I would also add this B&B is in the middle of nowhere so a walk to any facilities is out of the question. Honesty from the reception staff would have meant that we could have driven elsewhere but regrettably this was too late after having a drink at the bar! We should have known better when the numerous golfers onsite did not visit the Bar/restaurant and left after they finished their round.
Who ever owns this hotel is losing a great opportunity and I would recommend a change in management. I have never in years of travelling complained about a hotel before but I feel compelled in this case.

Dear Phil & Jackie, I regret that your stay at L'Empereur did not meet your expectations. The management has just changed a couple of weeks ago and it will take a fiew days before any changes can be operated. There's a lot to do here... Many thanks for your comments, I will consider them as soon as I can.
