"I still cannot get over my stay at this beautiful lodge like hotel. First the front desk person Matthilda was so kind and helped a group of us look out for the northern lights. This area is adorable and has many options to see the lights if they come out. "Overall, it was an amazing hotel. The restaurant had the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life. This really amazed and shocked me. I’m from New Orleans which has the best food in the world and I’m difficult to please. The staff tried hard to answer questions and do things like order taxis. "I stayed with a friend. The twin beds were comfortable, not too soft. Extremely clean and spacious. We were on the 8th floor and could see sunrise from the window. It would have been nice to have a sitting area instead of desk. Bathroom was typical. They included robes because it was the executive suite. Breakfast was good and convenient. No restaurant otherwise. I chose it for the convenient location. Easy walk to bus stop 1 for tours. Close walk to main areas. I would definitely stay again and recommend. "

"competent, caring, warm, patient staff. (Best to call them directly rather than emailing for information/clarifications etc.) SATT restaurant on site quite marvelous. Breakfast, lunch, weekend brunch, and dinner buffets quite sumptuous. (Expensive, but all food in Iceland is.) A la carte available. Restaurant was very comfortable centerpoint of our activities there. Didn't explore spa until we were checking out and wish we had done so earlier (salt water pool, hot tub, sauna, and nice atmosphere just to lounge -- maybe $20/day extra? other spa services available for fee). We were there during winter, so took taxi (or else shuttle services from pre-purchased tours) everywhere. Taxis almost immediately available. Perlan museum is 5 minute drive away and extremely worthwhile experience orienting to the Icelandic geography/geology/history, many experiential exhibits, exquisitely designed with 360 degree panorama restaurant on top of museum."
