Our stay

Posted 2 Jan 2020 on Hotels
1) Resort map direction led us to different place and we had to search around little bit. 2) Location of resort is not great. 3) Resort was not worth for the amount we paid. 4) Bath room was stinking when we checked in and wash basin was over flowing. After reporting issue though a person attended but it was not fixed.

A Heavenly Experience

Posted 28 Oct 2017
We, a family of 4, landed in Bagdogra on 16 Oct. at 1 pm. it took us 6 hrs to reach Gangtok. I had booked 2 rooms for 16-21 Oct. at Summit Golden Crescent, Gangtok - 1 Suite & 1 Executive. The Manager - Mr. Akhil Das is very humble and helpful. He did 3 things for us 1. Gave wheelchair for my mother-in-law for not just the hotel, but also sightseeing 2. Changed the Suite room to Executive as we wanted ceiling fan, and adjusted the downgrading with 3 complimentary dinners 3. Changed our Reservation for last 2 nights to Summit Hermon Hotel, Darjeeling, without additional charges 4. Transported the Wheelchair and 2 stand fans in his friend's car to Darjeeling hotel, with no additional charges to us The staff is very friendly and efficient. There are 2 open air sitting areas - a covered one on 4th floor, and the other is open on the 5th floor that provide nice views of the hills. The restaurant at the basement is of good size. The breakfast and dinner buffet was quite filling and satisfactory. There is a kid's playing room of good size and a small lawn where guests can enjoy the winter sunshine. There is a taxi stand just outside the hotel. Std fare of Rs. 150 to the The MG Road Mkt, which is a pedestrian only mkt, with open spaces and seating areas too. Its very beautiful at night, something sorely lacking in Delhi. All local sightseeing can be done fro the taxis outside the hotel. On 19 Oct., we left for Darjeeling with sadness. I hugged the manager while leaving.

First hand experience of this property

Posted 16 Apr 2017
Pros: Apart from above family rooms are very spacious and has first floor as well. Mountain view from terrace is captivating.
Cons: Room accessories and bathroom fittings can be improved with very little expenses. Room heaters may be made available in sufficient numbers.
Location: Mall road market is appx 2 km and require own vehicle or taxi..
Staff is very courteous. The traditional welcome with tilak and silk drap was very much admired by my family. The food is good. Dishes for North Indian are also available. We must have our own vehicle as location is a bit inconvenient. But overall a very good experience.

Don't stay unless u absolutely have to!

Posted 11 Mar 2016 on Hotels
Pathetic conditions of room. Will never stay in this particular summit golden crescent Gangtok. Stains on the wall. Dirty electric kettle smelling of milk.Broken luggage rack. Uncovered electric socket. Damp walls inside the room. No Vodka in Bar. Please avoid unless u have to stay here absolutely. Summit is a 3 star hotel as they claim, even have a good tripadvisor rating of 4out of 5 on excellence in 2015, but this only proves that even tripadvisor is wrong sometimes. Sincerely,
