Check-in staff was energetic and tried her best in introducing the facility despite her limited English.

Free coffee within certain time.
But, no elevator for rooms at second floor.

The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were awesome.
We were there for 2 nights and they served different dishes both nights with crab. The half board package is definitely worth it as a dinner alone cost 3500 Yen.
Onsen is a little old school. However, it was quite big (3 indoor & 1 outdoor) and relaxing with mountains view.
Overall we are very happy with our stay.

Stay Away
Posted 13 Jul 2017 on HotelsStay away from this hotel, no in room bathroom, recently remodel but so dated. Their hot spring vintage, it was so uncomfortable I check out a day earlier and lost the room payment.

Had a very brief stay in highland furano. Liked the place for its polite and helpful staff who are willing to try to entertain our queries despite severe language barrier. I liked the place for its seclusion and view. Be prepared for poor signal. There is no private toilet. Bathing is done in a common toilet which is reasonably clean. Breakfast is good enough for a 3 star hotel, the mashed pumpkin tempura is very good!
