Matsuriya Yuzaemon

3.0 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (15)
"About 10-15 minutes from Iizaka Onsen station. The hotel is situated uphill & is a traditional construction w/spacious parking area. Check-in is easy & short, & staff is friendly & polite. Our room has mountain view & can hear water running downstream when window open. Quite serene! Our meal plan included breakfast & dinner (half board). Japanese style dining w/good amount of food & varieties. Literally, they can fill you up. Separate indoor/outdoor public onsens for women & men. I suggested to...

Sansuiso

3.5 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (55)
"The hotel is situated in a beautiful location, surrounded by nature (if you don’t have a car then it takes a couple of hours to see the local sights). The rooms are traditional with great views, and super authentic. The set dinners and breakfasts are the best I’ve had, and were something to look forward to. There is a selection of onsens including the opportunity to hire private ones for those who aren’t confident of sharing more public pools. A highlight of the trip so far"

Hotel Sankyo Fukushima

3.5 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (741)
"Great place, 3 star, but like 4 star place. Awesome breakfast buffet, plenty of choices & variety. Japan type & other American too. Room size ok, note choices from hotel online websites might use different terminology than actual hotel descriptions for size. Super nice & helpful staff, like most places not much English speaking. Nice lobby, good WiFi, plenty of amenities, except no microwave. Note restaurant is only for breakfast. Check in & out mainly by machine, but people are there also....
