A pity you couldn't have an evening meal at the hotel, or a kettle etc in your room but otherwise excellent.

I arrived a little after 10pm and was not able to get my room key until the next morning when they opened up. Apparently they shut everything down at 9pm and this was not communicated to us. We traveled almost 15 hrs by train to get to this hotel and we were forced to sleep in the lounge because no one was there to give us a key. And then they charged us full price despite this horrible incident. This establishment has very poor policies for check-in and very bad communication skills. The lady at the front desk thought it was absolutely acceptable for us to sleep in the lounge area because no one was around to give us our key. It is now 2024 and almost all hotels have some form of electronic check-in so a guest is not forced to sleep outside or on the porch in the event they arrive late. Otherwise, it seems like a nice place, they mean well. They just are not up to date with the times and have really bad communication skills with their guests.

Despite this, we will not take any responsibility for this incident for we did everything thats possible to prevent it.Our small family-run hotel is rated as a 3-star-hotel. In Germany, hotels in this cathegory will usually not have a night auditor and check-in-time will end anytime between 6 and 10 p.m.. As were aware that especially foreign travellers are often used to other service, our check-in instructions and opening hours are communicated on all booking websites. On Expedia, you find these information under "policies" and under "frequently asked questions". In addition, an automised e-mail with information about check-in-times and call to action "please call us [phonenumber] in case of late arrival to get a code for self check-in" is sent to all guests via Expedia booking system.As you didnt arrive by 9 p.m., our receptionist tried to phone you, but unfortunately you have not been available. So the young man decided to wait for you another hour till 10 p.m.. When leaving home, he also left your name and key at the reception and informed our senior to hand over the key if youd show up and asked for check-in while he was still awake. But, to be honest, under all those circumstances it seemed likely you wouldnt be travelling for the creditcard details left on Expedia to guarantee your booking, have not been valid either. We do understand your disappointment, and we wish things would have happened a different way. Were here for our guests, and were doing our best everyday to give them a good and relaxing experience. But when booking a hotel it is not only hotels duty to communicate all information thats needed, but also guests responsibility to look it up and make sure to leave a working mobile number and valid creditcard details to avoid misunderstandings.If you ever come back to Füssen, youll be welcome here, and wed love to make your stay great. The hotel is traditional inside with lots of cosy touches such as sheepskins on the seats. The room was super clean and comfortable. The view from the balcony into the park and towards the mountains was magnificent. There were lots of paths for walking and cycling and 2 lovely lakes nearby for swimming. A cute crazy golf course also on the doorstep. The breakfasts were super. Loads of variety. Bacon, eggs, cold meats and cheeses as well as a selection of cereals and breads including gluten free and dairy free. Staff were lovely,very kind, helpful and smiley. When we were late for breakfast the chef made us scrambled eggs specially. A great place to stay. Thank you to all the staff.

Good but wifi poor

Hotel v nice, efficient staff, great breakfast and clean rooms. As 3G signal is poor in the area, WiFi should be better. Wifi is bitty and not up to par. If it is an off grid experience thou, this is a very nice place.

Perfect Place to stay!

A lovely place, nice people working there. The breakfast was amazing, and it is included, plus the spa with saunas is very upscale, nice, and included!

Beautiful nature, view from our room was breathtaking! It was a great decision to pick this hotel. Hotel has parking so it was very convenient with a car. Walked to Fussen for restaurants and shops. Breakfast was awesome, staff were friendly. We stayed one night and took the castle tours next morning. Nature and surrounding area is so beautiful. If we go back, will not look further and stay here again.

Helpful front desk and friendly staff Clean room Good breakfast Large common lounge area Hot in room and mosquito’s love the English! No aircon and no fan. No bug screen on patio door Duvet only on bed (which is the norm these days) meaning no cover from such as a sheet and hence unable to leave patio door open to get cool air during the night, so bring a fan if you can like we did. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. No restaurant (though plenty in town) and bar closes at 9pm

Were really happy you felt comfortable with staff, cleanlyness, lounge and brakfast and enjoyed your stay.Unfortunately, the mosquitos love everyone these days - Bavaria has had lots of rain and temperatures rising afterwards. But its getting better now. We have a couple of fans for our guests. They are available at the reception, as some kettles are, too. Tea- and coffee making facilities on the rooms are not common in German 3* hotels, we regret. Thats one of the things I love most when travelling the UK.Hope to host you again someday. Big room for 3, quiet and approachable staff. More excellent if we have the view of the alps. Nice place. Please provide kettle with coffee and tea. Although they can provide this on request.
