Just back from a 10 day stay at the Crystal Beach hotel in Fuerteventura, the room was spacious and very clean, the pool area is lovely and plenty of sun loungers, there is also a beach area and beach bar which are both good. The beach is right on the hotel and is lovely and the sea warm. The food was varied and good but could have been warmer at times. Lunch in a separate restaurant was lovely and always hot. The reception staff, maids and restaurant staff were all lovely and helpful. The main area of the hotel was nice but very hot during the day with no air conditioning. The outside seating area at the front of the hotel is lovely. The hotel is in a good location but Costa Calma is a very quiet resort. I would recommend the hotel as good value in a lovely beach location. I was asked to sit at a table with other guests for dinner who didn’t speak my language and that made any conversation difficult, it would be better if same language guests sat together at dinner. I really enjoyed my stay and would return again.

PROS: Cleanliness of the room and great staff. The beach is lovely. Nice size balcony with partial view of the ocean.
CONS: The food was terrible, not even my cat would have eaten it in some occasions.The restaurant started clearing at least 15-20 before time. We were only a few tourists, but if the buffet is promised until 9pm, I expect the full service to be active until 9pm not 8.40.
Please be aware that the area is populated mainly by German tourists, so the atmosphere is not Spanish at the least. The area is also very calm with a 20 mins walk to the first passable bar of which there are possibly 3 in total.
Lovely nature and coastline though.

Reception felt like being in a funeral parlour, and check in was possibly the world's slowest, but otherwise the stay went ok.

Lovely hotel for relaxation.
Posted 21 Feb 2020 on HotelsThis is a lovely hotel close to a very pleasant beach. There is only limited parking but you can also park at the sister hotel next door. I recommend hiring a car as there is very little to do in the immediate vicinity but lots to see on the island. The lobby/lounge area is very bright and spacious with comfortable chairs and sofas. The rooms are large and have lots of storage space. The beds are comfortable and the furniture modern. Remember to bring your own tea and coffee to avoid being charged. The fridge is handy for milk and cold water. We stayed half board and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the meals. There was ample choice for anyone and each dish was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful and the evening entertainment was enjoyable. The lifts do not go all the way down to the beach level and take a bit of finding but there is a steep path at the side of the hotel that you can take if you want to avoid the steps. The ocean view rooms are at the side of the hotel and look out across the next door hotel to the sea. The balconies are big and private. Being an adults only hotel makes the atmosphere more peaceful and relaxing.

Spoilt by the rude Receptionist
Posted 10 Jan 2020 on HotelsThe bar staff and one of the reception staff were all really nice. Unfortunately, this was spoiled by the Receptionist when we checked out. The Reception was busy when we came down to checkout so we decided to put our bags in our car (which was parked right outside the hotel) and then go straight back in to check out. We had just go to our car when the Receptionist came charging out of the Hotel shouting we needed to check out and that if we had a bill then she would need to pay for it. There were a number of people standing outside the hotel waiting to be collected by their coach and this was incredibly embarrassing. We had not intention of leaving without paying and feel her attitude was completely unplaced and rude. She did not even apologise. In general the hotel was ok but she gave a bad leaving message.
