The resort is a bit tired and the furniture in the apartments is badly in need of replacing, they are going for the shabby sheik look but it more on the shabby side. The sofa/bed setee was the most uncomforatble it have sat on. They apartments are also badly equipped, no wine glasses, corkscrew, dish towels or cloths to wipe surfaces down. The pool area is well equipped with plenty of sun loungers. If you don't want to walk to get to shop or restaurants this is not the apartments for you as it takes around 30 mins to get anywhere. We did have a nice stay but dont think we would go back do to the location.

Nice hotel, decent food but poor entertainment

Posted 25 Jun 2018
Pros: We liked the pool as it was large, the restraunt as it was always clean and looked new and the apartment as it was spacious and well equiped.
Cons: The entertainement was average but a few more nights that include the guests would be good. An adults only day programme would be welcome.
Location: The Grandes Playas Corralejo beach is brilliant and there is a bar and sports equipment hire shop on site. This about a 30 minute walk from the hotel.
The hotel was clean and the apartment was very spacious. We stayed for 7 days and our towels and sheets were changed 3 times. The pool is very large and is salt water which I prefer. There are only a few sun-protecting wooden parasols however, so if this is something you need it's best to get there early. The main all-inclusive restraunt is very good as it looks quite new. The food is quite typical of what you get in an all-inclusive package. They also have a second restraunt that you have to book for, this is included in your all-inclusive package, however we didn't book for this. There was plently of entertainment for the kids, with many sport and general activities for them to do throughout the day. However there was limited to no entertianment for the adults. The adults could take part in the kids programme, however there was not a seperate programme for adults only, this was a shame. We found the entertainment on an evening to be poor, our first two nights was the animation team dancing to music and on saturday nights there is no entertainement provided. The rest was a movie quiz, a general quiz, a reggae night, however we went out into Corralejo on these nights as there is some great entertainment there such as in the music square. The hotel is very close to the water park, about a 20 minuite walk to the nightlife/shops and 30 minutes to the beach. There are shops attached to the hotel that are good for general bits such as snacks and drinks for the beach.

Past experience

Posted 18 Mar 2018
Due to Europe-wide weather conditions in March 2018 there were so many flight delays arriving& departing that at 9pm arrival at hotel they had no rooms available so I was sent to Oasis Dunas hotel for my 2 week holiday.

We were bumped to another local hotel with poorer facilities because of booking error. It happened to others too. Really poor because we had booked this place because of the pool. We still used the pool - which is fab- but much less comfortable and convienient.

Nice for the money but many management let-downs

Posted 2 Jan 2018 on Hotels
We chose this hotel as family of 4 with 2 teenagers. From the previous reviews we expected somewhat run down rooms in nice grounds and this exactly what we got. Well maintained grounds, loads of sun loungers, wind protected, rooms with dated decor and poor lighting. The complex is too far out of town to enjoy access to Corralejo on foot but we have a car so this is fine (and I would consider it necessary unless you want to be cooked up inside the complex for your stay). The staff are outstandingly friendly - all of them - full stop. However, what annoyed us immensely is that it seems as if the hotel management is aiming to annoy its guests wherever it can with so many let downs and complications that you don't expect from the description: 1) seating in the rooms is atrocious, the sofa (-bed) with 90 degree backrest ridiculously uncomfortable 2) you need to pay a deposit for the TV to be able to see exactly one English channel (no other language other than Spanish) on a 20-year old 20" CRT TV 3) you need to pay (and leave deposit) for the safe 4) the pay-for internet is very patchy and slow 5) the pools are very, very, very cold - but wait: there is a heated pool in the hotel: for which you need to pay, get a voucher, and leave your passport at reception to get the key 6) you get one key per room and your kids want to play tennis? No problem, pay £8 and leave the key as deposit - but you only have one key - so you leave passports at reception again. Sooo complicated

Hotel has promise but rooms need basic upgrades.

Posted 27 Nov 2017
Pros: Staff was very helpful, location is good and room was very clean.
Cons: Just upgrade! Minor changes would make this hotel excellent.
Location: Cafes, mall, beaches and shops. Shops on site are excellent.
Not bad at all except : outdated locks, stove, little to no lighting on walkways. Restaurant often closed. Gym key you need to borrow rather than having a card.

The facilities at the papagayo where excellent nice gym pool was good just what we expected however the hotel just needs to do a few things... In room new mattresses be prepared for a sore back, needs air con every night we woke up sweating like mad, luckily we were self catering we had breakfast once and were so happy we never went all inclusive the food was terrible they really need to get a new chef!!!

Great holiday for family

Posted 9 Jul 2017 on Hotels
Loved this place and would love to come back. Staff everywhere are so nice and helpful. Abundance of pools and activities for all ages. The food in the restaurant is really good too. The two bed apartment was perfect for our needs however the lack of air conditioning made sleeping uncomfortable. There was a basic electric fan which only slightly helped. still I (we ) would return as everything else was perfect ! The pools are possibly the cleanest I have ever seen and plenty of room for everyone,

Great family atmosphere

Location not the best, staff excellent much better place than some reviews imply.. unusual for Fuerteventura no cockroaches. The animation team are especially good with the kids. We will return but never with Expedia again.
