How did you end up here
Posted 25 Jan 2022 on HotelsAfter a long day and travelling thousands of miles we were greeted with "How did you end up here: this is a hotel for Germans and you will be the only English people here". We were told that everything is in German and there is no translation to English. Then we were shown a map that indicated our room was not overlooking the sea, but we were assured that we would have a lovely sea view. The continuing deceit was a feature of the holiday. After wandering about in the dark we found the room. Disappointingly, it had a view of a neighbouring hotel and what looked like sewage works! The receptionist said that the pictures and description given to us when booking was misrepresentation. Most of the next day was wasted as promises made were broken, but eventually we were moved to a room with a sea view. The booking site gives English as the first language and promises - a flat screen TV with satellite channels. Predictably, none are in English. There is a Gazette printed everyday giving a timetable of events and other important information - the manger promised that it would be translated so that we would know what was going on. However, despite several reminders it was never provided. We are keen tennis players and wanted to take part in the daily clinic - to do this you need to sign up on a Sunday, but we were not told and could not take part. Our other enjoyment on holiday is swimming. Unfortunately, the hotel pool is is freezing. Smoking is allowed everywhere. Avoid.

After you have left us the same review on two platforms, I hope you understand that I am giving you the same answer two times.
We, as the Aldiana Club Fuerteventura team, are very sorry that the above words are your summary of your holiday with us.
As we were able to establish very quickly, you unfortunately arrived with us with different ideas and expectations. We had the incorrect information on the booking platform expedia adjusted immediately due to this incident. Unfortunately, it is not possible to enter free text on this platform in which we could better describe our company Aldiana.
The room that was originally allocated to you does have a sea view, but here too we responded to your objection and offered you a change of room, which you accepted. It's a pity that you cut off the left side of the balcony in your photo and didn't upload a photo of the room you occupied after you changed rooms.
In the same way, you uploaded a photo of a dirty bench in this review. It is a snapshot because it rained relatively heavily after several days of Calima (sandstorm).
Since our entertainment team has a German-language offer, the gazette is also written in German, but we should not forget that our entertainment manager has translated more than 7 days of the gazette of the upcoming weekly programme into English for you.
On the subject of smoking areas, fortunately many of our public hotel areas are outdoors, so smokers are welcome to smoke anywhere, away from strangers.
At this point we would like to emphasise that the management contacted you during your stay and made you an accommodating offer and invited you to an exclusive a la carte dinner as an apology for the annoyance. Since you accepted both offers, we do not consider it fair that these aspects are not mentioned in your evaluation. Even if Aldiana is not an option for you in the future, we would like to thank you for your feedback and wish you great new holiday experiences in the future.
