"We stayed in a 3 bedroom oceanview on level 3 and it was perfect. Staff greeted us well and were friendly, the rooms were clean, tidy, comfortable and the view was amazing. Their was a slight unpleasant smell (kind of like a wet dog) when we first entered but could be the age of the building or other factors (maybe carpets could do with a refresh) but once we had the balcony door open and over the next couple of days it didn't bother us at all. They do hassle you for a presentation, they don’t take no for an answer, they’ll call you everyday to see if you changed your mind. "We arrived out of hours but were given clear information about access to find our two bedroom accommodation that was excellent. Clean, well equipped and highly recommendable. The pool and play area were well maintained and again very clean and presentable. My family had a wonderful 5 day stay. My grandson was so pleased you had a spa and spent most of the 5 days in it or the pool or the games room."

"The Macquarie Barracks Motor Inn is a budget motel accommodation that deserves a four-star plus rating. The property is well-suited for families, couples, groups and travellers with limited travel funds. This stay is our third time here spread over three years. For our most recent one-night stay, we paid less than A$199 for a premium king-bed room equipped with a sizeable jetted bath tub that could fit two adults and an extra child or a petite adult. With this luxurious amenity coupled with a clean and spacious room, we scored a good-value-for-money accommodation in a beautiful yet highly expensive holiday destination in the mid-north coast in NSW. The property is well positioned in the heart of Port Macquarie; but despite the heavy vehicular traffic in the daytime, it was surprisingly quiet and peaceful in the evening. We slept like a log! Foremost, the reception was pretty much simple and straightforward with check-in and check-out formalities. We provided booking details and bob’s your uncle. We received our room key promptly with a friendly smile from the front-desk staff and enjoyed a relaxing spa bath to unwind after a hectic day of sightseeing and high-adrenaline holiday activities. Macquarie Barracks has always delivered the best of everything for us. Thank you very much!"
