Spectacular view. Helpful and friendly staff. The furniture desperately needs an update though, especially the "double beds" which are just two small beds pushed together, resulting in an uncomfortable gap/crack in the bed every night.

Hotel was very clean, staff very friendly, restaurant very good. Rooms need some major upgrade. Other then that I would most definitely return.

There were no other affordable options so this was what was available when made our booking. It's definitely not up to American standards of cleanliness. The pool had black mold which my daughter was able too to scratch off and it was coming off into the pool. I was mortified. There was mold/algae everywhere in the pool ad the pool is the main nice amenity there. While the manager was nice, I did not feel it was clean. Our sheets had a faint small of cigarettes - maybe it was from our neighbors next door because they were smoking on the terrace, but it's 2021 and smoking near rooms really should be banned. they never cleaned out the cigarette butts from the umbrellas outside near the pool. My daughter kept playing with them and I just had to dump out the cigarette butts in the trash. All of them had them filled. The breakfast was scarce and they charged us extra for breakfast. We have stayed at many hotels in Ischia and they still charged us 20 euros a night extra for our child who is 3. The food costs were ridiculous (12 euros for a mixed salad.). We paid a lot of money for a triple room during peak season, but if you're American and understand health codes, the pool is not up to health code standards. Having algae/mold in pools can make children and adults sick because they can ingest the bacteria and have gastrointestinal issues.

The room was nice but apparently it was for two people, not for three. AC stopped working for a few times per night.

Lovely, friendly hotel

Pros: View and pool
Cons: Shower was a bit on the small side
Location: Close to the local beach (10-15) walk and 10 mins on the bus to Fioro
A lovely friendly hotel, amazing views over the bay and wonderful pool. Very clean and good service. Location was good with direct access to the bus network.

the hotel is located in a very good location close to the beach and with a beautiful view, rooms, the pool and pool area are very good, the staff is friendly and not intrusive.
in the room a good bathroom but the shower area is not good.
food at the hotel is disgusting, canned food, food prices are not justifiably high, breakfast is better not to order and regret your stomach, go down into the town in a cafe.
The woman managing the hotel refers to visitors not as customers, but as if all customers is a guests in her home and allows themselves a lot of excess.

Top hotel for Ischia stay

Pros: The service from the staff was excellent and the location above the bay is spectacular.
Clean, comfortable hotel with great facilities and a wonderful view of the bay, particularly at sunset.
Capizzo is located 5-10 minutes walk from a decent beach, a market and a few local cafes. The pool area is immaculate, with a thermal temperature pool and well kept gardens ideal for relaxing. Drinking a cocktail, delivered by the friendly staff, whilst watching the sun set and the sky change colour was a daily essential during our stay.
Capizzo is a 20 minute walk along the sea front to the beautifully authentic town of Forio. There is also a bus stop nearby with many routes going to Forio. The town is full of restaurants with delicious food, shops with souvenirs and locals spending time with their families. It's architecture and atmosphere give the feel of authentic southern Italy without too many tourists.
With Ischia island being as small as it is and the bus routes connecting the majority of the island, Capizzo was a perfect base to explore the many stunning beaches and different towns of the island. 40 minutes @ €1.50 on the bus will get you to Ischia Porto.
The staff at Capizzo are friendly and ready to help with recommendations and advice on best how to travel around the island. The hotel is well looked after, our room was always clean and the atmosphere around the hotel was always good. Our sea front room had plenty of room and the view from the balcony was worth the money alone.
