The setting is quite spectacular and the hotel rooms are stylish if a little small. Unfortunately, my husband accidentally, kicked his glasses under the bed and when we tried to retrieve them saw that cleaning under the bed is not a priority. A lot of dust etc. Otherwise the room was spotless. I had also emailed the hotel a few days before asking if we could eat in the restaurant. They only told me on arrival that it was fully booked until October. It would have been helpful to have known in advance. We took the option of a ‘picnic hamper’ which was disappointing to say the least. The breakfast was slightly underwhelming. A nice selection of items from local producers but luke warm coffee out of a thermos jug is not what I would expect from a hotel of this standard. I think they could serve a pot of coffee or tea at the table without too much trouble. The reception staff were extremely pleasant and helpful I must say.

What is not to like, eating a wonderful breakfast around a cloister after a quiet night in this Abby of great French & English historical significance, with dove and large bells easing you into your morning.

Exceptional surroundings arrived late and was greeted with a smile and a motorised cart to collect me and my luggage from my motorcycle. Fabulous after a long wet day riding in the rain!

Historic site that tells many stories, and all of the accommodations are up to date and comfortable. Staff is easy and knowledgeable.
