Great location for the sunset beach

Posted 14 Jun 2016
Pros: Large rooms and home baked breakfast bread and cakes. Relaxed and helpful staff. Great that it has a swimming pool, perfect for tired hiking muscles.
Cons: A bar would be nice but staff were relaxed about consuming drink bought at supermarket so not really an issue. Perhaps an earlier breakfast option.
Location: As mentioned a great location if you are happy being on the edge of the town but in easy walking distance to harbour, tourist office, bus stop etc.
Not the easiest hotel to find but we did approach it from an unconventional route. It is conveniently situated 5 mins walk from harbour but in a quiet area near to the path that you can take down to Mar de Fora beach which has a chilled vibe and is great place to watch the sunset. The location also encourages you to take the coastal path to the lighthouse which is much more interesting than the road route to the east side, it is quite steep though so wouldn't suggest flip-flops! We thought it was good value and provided a perfect place to rest for a day before hiking onto Muxia. I discovered that they are happy to do laundry, a much needed service having walked for 3 days from Santiago.

What NOT to Expect

Posted 31 May 2014 on Hotels
Beautiful view, spacious, comfortable room - so why did we not like it and vow never to stay there again? Possibly the (included) breakfast (2 pieces of dry bread and a cup of cold coffee), or the recycled towels (wet, hung up from bottom of bathtub, not replaced) - but mainly the attitude of the owner. He obviously doesn't like guests, doesn't want to make them feel welcome, or help them at all. And as for the 'spa' - well, good luck in finding how you access it. Have stayed in many lovely places, but this was not one of them.

Appalling and inappropraite treatment by the owner

The owner was very rude and aggressive. In my opinion his behavior is entirely inappropriate for anyone working in the hospitality industry. After my experience I could not advise anyone to stay in this hotel.

Hilltop view

The Hotel was very nice but the reviews failed to state that it was located on a hilltop and it was very strenuous for those of us on foot.

Hotel overlooking Finisterre, Spain

Posted 30 Sep 2013 on Hotels
At registration we upgraded our room from a non view room to a room overlooking the bay. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The only issue with the property is the narrow one lane road necessary to access it by car. The last kilometer is challenging for a driver used to broad American avenues.

Nice room. Great views, good access to a back beach with great sunsets.. An employee was sweet and drove us to the bus stop. Only negative is no food service on premises But, the hotel staff did call a food delivery service for us.

Totally relaxing after doing the Camino.

This was a charming hotel. The staff were gracious and helpful. Do what you can to get a room with a view of the water. Fabulous. The hotel only serves breakfast and the pool is on the small side, but it was a delightful stay.

Further than the 300m as advertised

Posted 3 Oct 2012 on Hotels
The hotel itself is lovely with genuinely rustic rooms, clean and well furnished - however - once off the bus prepare for a long haul up steep sloping roads far in excess of the 300m advertised on the boards. Breakfast was superb although extra's if required were extortionate - the evening meal [we ordered the 12euro] that has to be ordered by 1900hrs was vastly expensive and virtually inedible - sadly I think the owner has a problem and appears disinterested while his staff are second to none.
