Riad Layalina exceeded our expectations! It was easy for our driver to drop us off, right at the front door so we didn’t have to carry our luggage any distance. The staff were incredibly hospitable as well! We were welcomed with mint tea and other delicious treats/fruit even with our late arrival. All of the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the stay. They were friendly and spoke English perfectly. The riad was also ornately decorated everywhere you looked! It was absolutely stunning; it was the most memorable and beautiful place we stayed through our entire vacation.

I like the people location and courtyard but our room looked old and bathroom was not what I expected. Not cozy nor appealing very old and rugged, it ruined our stay. I would have preferred a room much more newer. But the bed was good.

Dear Suzanne,Thank you for taking the time to review us. For your perfect information, the riad has been entirely renovated in 2011 and newly in 2022, post covid. With all due respect, the room neither the bathroom cannot be qualified as "old". This is an 18 century building, which has nothing similar with the 5* hotels where you obsiously usually stay (this is what I understood from our conversation). So maybe you thought staying in a 5 stars hotel, which is not the case at all. This riad is ideal for lovers of old renovated houses but nothing to compare with the Peninsula :-)Next time you come to Fez, I recommend Palais Faraj for instance which will correspond to high level standards.I wish you all the best.

The epitome of Moroccan hospitality
Posted 25 Sep 2023 on HotelsA beautiful place, decorated with love and respect for traditional design. The staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Radouane helped us return our rental car, giving us a tour of the outer city that we never would have seen. He also connected us with Yassine, a great guide for the medina.
Asmaa’s food was likewise excellent. And when we couldn’t finish our huge portion of couscous Friday night, they happily saved it for our Saturday dinner.
I originally picked this place because I thought we would need parking for a rental car. In the end, we didn’t, but the location was still perfect for exploring the city. I would stay there again and I highly recommend it.

This was our favorite riad experience in Morocco. The location is phenomenal, the staff is awesome, breakfast was perfect. We loved our room and the amenities were great for our needs. We would’ve stayed much longer than two nights if our itinerary allowed it. We are looking forward to returning soon and bringing family.

This is a gem of a small Riad! The beautiful center courtyard, where our room faced, is light & airy and filled with amazing mosaics, stunning painted ceilings and intricate plaster reliefs. The staff was delightful and accommodating. Our room was charming, authentic, and spaceous. There is a wonderful roof deck with stunning views - this lovely Riad is a winner!
