Fosshotel Eastfjords
5/5 Excellent
Really interesting hotel in great setting
"It's an interesting hotel, utilising former French hospital buildings and containing an interesting musuem about the French sailors, mainly from Brittany who spent half the year in tough conditions fishing along the Icelandic coast.
The receptionist was friendly, informative and welcoming. Our room was over the road (free parking outside) with a view over the fjord. The room was spacious and modern with good black out curtains and a fab view.
We booked into the French restaurant withon the hotel and both enjoyed our meals. Breakfast was also enjoyable with a good range ot items which were stocked up regularly.
Neither the hotel or the restaurant are cheap - nothing in Iceland is cheap! However it was a pleasant quiet night. NB Nothing to do with the hotel but the fish industry locally is still very much alive and so we had a strong whiff of fish when outside. Doesn’t take away from the great views and setting."
