Worth the price? Not sure at all
Posted 11 Aug 2019 on HotelsThe cottage is nice but not cleaned on a daily basis which is strange and not ideal.
The bedsheets are not smooth quite rough and therefore not comfortable. Quite expensive for a bed and breakfast at the middle of nowhere

If being 15 minutes from Bordeaux and 30 minutes from Saint Emilion is in the middle of nowhere, it's your appreciation...
If sleeping in linen sheets is not comfortable for you, it is your appreciation...
If having top-of-the-range private services: Jacuzzi, hammam, outdoor shower, are not enough, it is your appreciation...
We are not a hotel. Our rooms are cleaned on request, we do not want to encroach on the tranquility of our guests. Your room has been completely cleaned (sheets, towels, bathrobes changed) after two nights out of the 5 nights spent with us.

The property has many amenities that are attractive-- hot tub, nice yard, impressive get-away type items. But, the cost is quite high for this. There are only two rooms. It's really difficult to find-- hidden in a residential area. And, the owner only takes cash.

Not the room we thought that we were getting

Pros: The management were really helpful, booking excursions for us etc. as we don't speak French
Cons: The room needed air conditioning. 30 degrees and no opening windows.
Location: The location was perfect for touring the Bordeaux area.
When we got our confirmation from Expedia, a photo of the room that we thought that we had booked was included on our confirmation. I notice that even on this review that Expedia has sent they have still attached the same WRONG PHOTO. When we arrived we found that the price that we had paid was for a much smaller room with far less facilities. Saying that the Hotel owner, Stefan, could not have been more helpful and understanding and we appreciated that the mistake was with Expedia and not the hotel. Putting our disappointment aside, Stefan was brilliant making our stay as pleasant as possible and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend the hotel, but not Expedia, who could not sort out the problem.

L endroit est très calme et intime avec un beau jardin et très belle piscine. Le déjeuner frais et le service était excellent. La chambre est correcte. Cependant il y a avait une forte odeur d’humidité et une forte odeur de retour d’eau dans la salle de bain. Manque de ventilation dans la chambre il faisait très chaud. Le propriétaire a été gentils de nous prêter un ventilateur pour réussir à dormir. Nous ne pouvions pas dormir la porte ouverte puisqu’il n’y a pas de moustiquaire et présence de beaucoup de maringouin.
