Good for the price

Posted 22 Oct 2015 on Hotels
Cheap motel , no breakfast. Room smelled a bit but bedding was surprisingly nice. So we're all the cats outside. Have gotten a little particular in my years of travel so wouldn't recommend this place unless you just need a place to sleep while driving the Blue Ridge parkway

The bed was very uncomfortable and the water in shower was cool/lukewarm. The television reception was not good.

We stayed 2 nights. The room was quite large and very clean. The price was very good. The hotel is older and the outside does need some repairs.

Country-Themed Motel for the Budget Minded

Posted 14 Sep 2015 on Hotels
An older family-run motel with a country flair. Amenities may be lacking and no free breakfast, but they do have free wifi. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and where else will you find a child's wooden hobby horse in the corner. But the biggest plus is the price. One of lowest prices in the area. Easy access off I-77 at Exit 8 in Virginia. Fancy Gap and the Blue Ridge Parkway are nearby.

Clean, older, odd

Room was clean. Motel was older but well maintained. Found it oddly decorated with a huge collection of clown dolls, figurines and paintings.

Small, cheap but satisfying motel

Posted 3 Sep 2015 on Hotels
Small motel with the owner's own, um, personal touch of decorating. Nothing great, just a low rate hotel that serves its purpose: a place to rest while passing through.

Cheap one night stop over

Posted 26 Aug 2015 on Hotels
The furnishings were well worn but clean. The proprietor appeared keen to interact with the customers as little as possi le. The lobby and room were full of what I would describe of as junk. This place needed de-cluttering. We needed a cheap bed for the night and this place fitted the bill perfectly. However I would not recommend for a lengthy stay.we enjoyed the location near the mountains.

Quiet and charming hotel

Posted 14 Aug 2015
Pros: Friendly staff, quiet, clean and very affordable.
Cons: Pavement.
Location: Mt. Airy is close as is blue ridge parkway
Quiet and charming hotel close to Mt. Airy, nC, and I-77. A great drive north on US-52 if you're going north and don't want to bother with the interstate. Also close to blue ridge parkway.

Convenient and Pleasant

Posted 3 Aug 2015 on Hotels
This was an overnight stay en route. The people at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, despite the late arrival. The location was convenient to the highway, which was what counted in this instance. The décor was a little strange with dolls everywhere, but overall this was someplace we'd stay again.
