We had a very pleasant stay. The staff were very polite and helpful. The food was really good. The rooms were really nice but there was a foul smell if you didn’t keep the window open. The boutique shop was very expensive.

This property is perfect for a relaxing stay away. The staff are all very friendly and during our stay (mid-Sep) there were plenty of sunloungers at the beach and the pool. There is a lovely spa availaible on site. The buffet was fine but i would not say it was 5 star quality. The other restaurant was also closed so there were no other options except to drive or take a taxi into Ermioni (about 10mins away). The all inclusive only had the buffet as an option which was slightly disappointing. The only evening bar, that wasnt the restaurant, was not included in the all inclusive deal, which meangt nobody went there and resulted in there not being a great atmosphere in the evenings. We ended up driving elsewhere, which is not always what you anticipate when go all inclusive. A very relaxing hotel but ensure you have a car to explore the nearby towns of ermioni, galatas, potos and hydra. All worth visiting.

Good overalls

Room was good, facilities great. Food excellent. Location on beach great. Front of desk staff could be improved. They were not particularly helpful or friendly.

Could be better

This does not feel like a 5* hotel, with very basic rooms and some frustratingly easy things to just get right being ignored. I was with my husband and 3 teenage girls. The evening entertainment was ok but the girls were quite bored. Rooms are perfectly functional and big, but lack any character- bare walls and characterless furniture. There is nothing in the minbar (even though we were all inclusive) and the girls were constantly running out of shampoo and conditioner which was not being topped up. Paying for drinks in the only bar open with any entertainment was unexpected- nothing available as part of all inclusive. Pool is salt water which is a shame, but not the end of the world. Lots of smaller children so pool noisy. Food was unimaginative and same-y and not all coffee machines working in the morning. Juice from machines tastes like squash. On the plus side the staff were generally good and the gardens etc very pretty. Like I said, most of these things are so easy to put right, and have been repeatedly raised as issues on various platforms! Put these right and it will be a good value venue.

They charge extra for iced coffee, even if you paid for the all inclusive. They wouldn’t let us stay for lunch after checkout, even though we hadn’t eaten lunch upon arrival We were waiting for over 30 mins for the car to help with the luggage, but it never came :(

Barcelo is a beautiful waterside resort that has its own private beaches and wonderful views. The grounds are immaculate and the staff are best in class. A truly wonderful resort. Special shout-out to Sylvia and Sofia for their wonderful work
