I would never book a room again at Victoria Lake V

Posted 26 Feb 2020 on Hotels
I booked a room at Victoria Lake View Guest House & Safaris through the hotels.com online service on February 15-20. He arrived late - on the morning of February 17. We are looking at the specified address, there no one knows the guest house with that name. A taxi driver brought me to the Victoria Lake Hotel, they explained that there is a Victoria Lake guest house and gave an address, we went there, and they say that we didn’t come there, somewhere in the city there is such a similar name for the Victoria Lake guest house, but they are secretly keeps his address, it’s difficult to find them, it’s better to call them, we will call the phone number indicated in hotels.com, and there no one will answer. We searched for 3 hours and called for 3 hours, nobody picked up the phone. The guest house did not have: a) the name of the guest house. b) street name. c) house number. No information at all. We knock and scream but did not answer for a long time, it turns out to be asleep. Then someone answered. They opened the door for a long time. The owner busily demanded money as expected from February 15 to 20, we paid. In the guest house everything was fine, but: 1. Wifi worked badly. 2. Public transport does not go. 3. The road from the highway to the guest house is far, not paved, dirty and dusty. 4. Cafes and restaurants are not there. 5. To the lake from the house is not 1 minute walk, but at least 5 minutes

I will never accept this client again. First, Victoria Lake View Guest house & Safaris has twice won the Super Host title in 2019 and will most likely still be Super Host in 2020. We also received The Guest review Awards It is enough to see the comments left by our many Guest to understand that we spank everything in our power to satisfy our customers. To sum up the story, Mr. Begaly never replied to our emails via Expedia or to the messages left on his answering machine. it was scheduled to arrive on February 15, 2020. Having no news, on the evening of the 16th, I report a no-show to Expedia. On February 17, two days later and at 6:00 am, Mr. Begaly shows up at our gate while we are paying more attention. he claims to have never known how to call us even though we have two telephone numbers still in operation or email via Expedia. He looked tipsy and behaved aggressively. I explain to him very calmly that the Guest is always available and that I can therefore welcome him. he gets angry because he had trouble finding the Guest house Our customers have never had difficulty finding our Guest house, it is on Google just check the name of the Guest on the booking and google it. And when we are in contact with our customers via email or even what'sapp as it is, it's easy to send them an explanation or even our driver! After having invited Mr. Begaly to settle in the Guest house, I ask him to pay for his stay. he claims to have already paid via Expedia and flatly refused to pay. it took me 20 min to explain to him that it is a Hotel collection. this means that the customer pays on arrival. I had to show him on my Extra Net Expedia that it is a Hotel collection. Regarding WiFi, we have The Smile company which is the best in Uganda. It is true that as we are near the lake sometimes the connection can be slower. I offered to configure his mobile phone, but he refused. Also in Africa the streets do not always have names or numbers on the other hand the main road which leads to our property is called Bwerenga road and is very easy to find. The property is big drumming on the gate is not always enough but it is enough to press the doorbell especially that at 6.00 in the morning, we are still in bed and expected nobody at this time! The sandy beach on 15 mins walk and it is not indicated on the site that it is one minute! Regarding restaurants and cafes, there are several near us. We have the magnificent Hotel Resort Marina 10 mins walk or 15 mins walk to Lavanda beach which has a sandy beach. Regarding the dust, Mr Begaly boasted of having visited several African countries before arriving at my place. I dare to imagine that he found only paved or tarmac roads? Mr Begaly only moved by Moto taxi, it is normal to be dusty after having traveled several km especially in Africa! On several occasions, I offered to transport it by car for a small fee but he refused. The owner Anita.

This stay could not have been better. The hosts, Denys and Anitah are warm and extremely helpful in anything you can want. I actually stayed much longer than I booked because this place was heavenly. I highly recommend this cottage and the hosts if you are looking for a wonderful stay or safari. Joanne Clemente joanne.clemente@venturesforgood.org if you want more info.
