Nothing fancy. A room with a kitchenette. Check in is super simple. Quiet area in September. Close to Glen lake.
Shower is small and water pressure is low. More windows and a bigger TV would be nice.
If you don't need much or want a kitchenette, check this place out.

Claimed they only had one room left and we got to the property it was empty all night.. boiling heater was really loud in the room. It's so loud that I barely slept at all. Almost looks like the property was in mid-renovation and not ready to be open.

Sorry to read this review. I wish you had said something about the heater, we would have happily helped you resolve that issue. I am not sure how to respond to the other comments as they don't even sound like they could be regarding out hotel.

Very accommodating. The place was clean And had all the amenities that you would need. Enjoyed sitting on the beach and Glen Lake.

I loved the location of this little hotel—it was within walking distance of the lake, less than a minute. The rooms were spacious and clean. I was there with my dog, and he had a terrific time. You can use the hotel kayaks, which is a plus.

Pricy room on the shore, paying for location. Older property that had been renovated. Shower was small.

Fire pit with wood, volleyball court, private bench and pier at lake short distance away, close to Sleeping bear dunes

This place was perfect for a night on our way to backpack in north Manitou, but I would consider it for a multi night stay exploring sleeping bear dunes. Empire is cute and has some dining options. There is also a small beach and sitting area on the lake for the resort. Just a tiny walk away for the room. Kitchenete and fridge, ice machine. Everything you need. Shower is very small and air conditioner loud but not a big deal for us.
