Too noisy in the bar. No lounge. Disappointing food.

Room we had was comfortable bathroom on small side but manageable for 1 night. Did find the room was continuously noisy from outside road noise and lorries loading/unloading.

Pleasant stay in a well run pub hotel

The Lamb was clean and comfortable for a one night stay while in Ely for a family wedding. I booked this for family who came over from the USA. They liked their stay and the rooms. They'd have preferred AC to the standing fan but I think that's because they're from US. Most pub hotels won't have AC. Staff were really friendly and helpful. It was a complicated booking and they were very flexible to make it work. Smooth check in and helped with taxis. A really pleasant stay I hear.

We stayed for 2 nights as we were working (performing) at the Cathedral. We chose this hotel due to proximity of the venue. A ground floor room was requested at time of booking due to my fiancée's mobility issues but we received no response from the hotel. On arrival we reiterated the need for a ground floor room (they could see that my fiancée was using a wheeled mobility aid) but were told that the hotel was fully booked and so our allocated room was up the stairs on the first floor. We said this would not be suitable and the young chap just shrugged his shoulders. We asked if our room could be swapped for a ground floor courtyard room and we were refused. My fiancée therefore had to struggle up and down the stairs causing upset and distress. Had the hotel bothered to respond to our initial email request for a downstairs room all of this could have been avoided. It was a real shame as the food and drink in the restaurant were superb and the other staff were very attentive and polite.

As you are aware, there were lots of events on in Ely last week and lots of group bookings, including yourselves, so the hotel was full. Due to the hotel being full capacity, it was impossible to offer you an upgrade to an accessible room otherwise we would have been more than happy to do this for you. Unfortunately, everything was already pre booked. However, we apologise for missing and not responding to your email.We are a disabled friendly hotel hence why we have both accessible rooms and standard annex rooms to offer... but this is obviously due to availability. We cannot install a lift because of the age of the building.Thank you for your kind words about the team and we're glad you enjoyed dining with us. It was lovely having you all.Best Wishes.
