Hotel DerBar is set in a beautiful location overlooking the mountains. The food is amazing and in abundance. There are spa facilities and an infinity pool. Have visited before and would again!

Outstanding family retreat
Posted 19 Feb 2017We loved, loved, loved our stay at this charming hotel. The hotel is beautiful and tastefully furnished, the food was delicious. But the best part must have been the service. The staff was extremely attentive and professional, and always ahead a kind word for our children. Our son had an amazing time, he particularly loved the kids club. We definitely hope to come back to this lovely place.

Great hotel with great service

Pros: Great views and service. And loved the heated bathroom floors.
Cons: The spa, pool and saunas were all very nice, but in 3 separate areas. Would have been nicer if all 3 were in one location in the hotel
Location: Our friends said the skiing was great. And the village of Ellmau was charming with good food.
We stayed at Hotel der Bar for 4 nights for a wedding. The hotel staff were very helpful and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. We had friends at different hotels in Ellmau but ours was the nicest of the bunch. We would definitely come back and stay here and would recommend it.
We stayed in the junior suite with panoramic views. We would recommend spending a little more for this view....which is spectacular!

You've found a lovely hotel - Hotel Der Bar

Pros: The friendly,helpful,professional staff. The friendliness and interest from the owners. The cleanliness & efficiency. The delicious cuisine.
Cons: The indoor pool is a little small and dated, but doesn't detract from a wonderful stay. The outdoor pool is large and in a beautiful setting.
Location: Waterpark, e-bikes, mountains, train ride, free bus service, chair lift, few shops, restaurants, all within walking distance.
My husband, myself and our two boys aged 12 had a fantastic stay at Hotel Der Bar. We have high expectations and although we stay in 4* hotels we often complain if the staff, cleanliness, quality etc. does not meet our high standards.
Hotel Der Bar exceeded our expectations. The staff were all friendly and professional and the family/owners all took the time to talk to us throughout our stay to check that we were happy with everything, very unusual and over and above what we are used to. The staff were accommodating and helpful and the gourmet food was delicious, something to suit everyone's palate. Nothing was too much trouble and our children (who can be fussy eaters) were in raptures about the cuisine, as were we. No need to eat anywhere else in Ellmau, great value half board is like full board. We expected a few cakes for the afternoon included in our half board, however there was a mini banquet from 1pm-4pm of salads, soup, curry/chicken/lasagne etc. as well as cakes.Plenty to do in and around the hotel, Ellmau is a lovely unspoilt village. The electric bike shop is a short walk from the hotel, the nearby waterpark which we also walked to was spotlessly clean, not very busy, great value at 21 euro's for the four of us, for the whole day. There's chair lifts and a train you can walk to which takes you up the mountain.
We normally like to try different hotels/countries however we would love to go back to Hotel Der Bar, anytime and would highly reccommend it to everyone.

Posted 23 May 2022 on HotelsDieses Hotel hat eine gute Ausgangslage und ist rundum nur zu empfehlen! Das Frühstücksbüffet lässt keine Wünsche offen, die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und auch der Sauna- und Schwimmbadbereich einladend. Für den Wellnessbereich hatten wir leider nicht genug Zeit. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Das Personal ist extrem aufmerksam . Selten so gut geschultes Personal erlebt . Der Infinitipool ist genial mit dem Ausblick . Essen ist hervorragend und sehr große Weinkarte
