It was not our first time, we came back because we loved the hotel and the location. This time we came back with friends to celebrate my birthday and it was an amazing experience, the hotel staff was very friendly and was able to accommodate all our needs.

Las Carreras is beautiful, elegant estancia, with friendly people and animals. We took walks and enjoyed each meal we had from the kitchen. We also had a quick tour of the cheese making work !

Working estancia in the country
Posted 18 Jan 2017 on HotelsThe hotel is on a working estancia. It is very quiet and has amazing views of hills and fields all around. The food was average, the breakfast didn't have much choice and was basic, dinner had to be ordered before and then you were given a time to eat. It is in a great location, right in the heart of the country and so life is much more laid back, and is easy to reach local sights by car.

Pros: I fell in love with the building, you could breath in history in every room.
The atmosphere made you feel completely relaxed.
Cons: nothing
Location: its not close to the town, which builds up the relaxed atmosphere but there are horses, a Tambo and other animals to watch or go for a ride.
It cant be any better. More than 230 years of history placed in a unique place , furnitured in a way only argentinians can...perfect.
Rooms are nice and of good size with windows facing the magnificent valley. The hotel itself is a pleasure to stay in. Friendly staff and tasty food.

Peaceful retreat in the mountains

Pros: The room
Cons: The horse riding trek and lack of activities
Location: Best accessed by car although there is an infrequent bus that can take you into Tafi del Valle town centre
We recently stayed 4 nights at the Estancia and the service and standard of the Estancia was fantastic. The room was beautiful and the surrounding landscapes stunning. The only area of disappointment was when we arranged a short horse riding trek as the guide didn't communicate with us and we were given no opportunity to canter or even trot. As I have been riding for many years I was disappointed with the standard of the trek. The horses were not of a particularily good standard compared to other places in Argentina.
Overall I would reccommend this Estancia as a luxurious peaceful retreat but if you are going there with the intention of some great riding experiences on the Estancia you will be dissappointed.

HIdden gem!
Posted 23 Jan 2012 on HotelsWe were coming from a string of high end places and were not sure if this would disappoint. Proof that things need not be pricey to be wonderful. Our best steaks of the trip were here. The landscapes were stunning and the historic estancia in perfect shape. Lovely staff too!

Si logras llegar bien; todo excelente.
Posted 28 Mar 2021 on HotelsHermoso entorno. Muy respetuoso y amable todo el personal. Rica comida. Cómodas habitaciones. Difícil arribar por falta de indicaciones. En google map no aparece bien la ubicación del Hotel. Tampoco hay carteles que ayuden. Y el teléfono del hotel estaba fuera de funcionamiento.
