Basic and old

Some areas are in poor shape, there was water damage, it has poor insulation and it got very hot, there was no AC or even enough fans for individual rooms. Employees cannot do much for their guests because the multiple problems have been reported many times and repairs are not made.

Great staff and good location.
Posted 19 Mar 2020 on HotelsMy wife and I really enjoyed our private room and the hostel. Our room was clean (though a bit cold at times), shower was clean with good pressure. Unfortunately my wife got sick while we were staying here and we didn't get to fully enjoy the hostel and Calafate. However, the staff were really helpful with helping us setup tours and also always asked about her condition.
The hostel is about a 15 minute walk to the city center, however, it is a easy walk and we felt safe walking around there at night.
I would recommend this place and will stay here again if we are in El Calafate.
