"The hotel is quite obviously an older establishment. That said, the current owner/proprietor continues to make improvements to the overall appearance of the hotel as well as the rooms. When I checked in there was work being done in the lobby. When I checked out, there were contractors working on the exterior. I will be staying there again tomorrow night when I return from Michigan to Missouri."

"We enjoyed our overnight stay at Comfort Suites Mattoon, IL. The staff members were very courteous and friendly, the hotel was extremely clean, check-in was quick and easy, breakfast was included, our room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. I only rated it 4 stars because the elevator was not working, however that did not affect us, as our room was on the first floor.
