We had a fantastic stay at the bruntsfield, we came down for a little getaway before Christmas and had a wonderful time, the hotel is situated right opposite a park and is in between a nice walk into the city centre or a nice walk down to morningside, there’s plenty of boutique cafes and restaurants either way with a variety of options for everyone and the restaurant at the hotel is homely and lovely - we didn’t eat in as the kitchen was closed for the first couple nights of our stay but the staff were happy enough to give us some recommendations. Our room was just as lovely, it was a great size and had more than enough room for our luggage and items, the tv is a good size and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also a good size, we had a couple issues with our shower door which they apologised and fixed immediately and the staff all around were lovely, also offering free left luggage on the last day of our trip. Very happy to recommend and we will be back again soon I’m sure.

Hotel was okay and fairly clean. Nice area near groceries, coffee shops and restaurants. However, the interior looked worn for wear, the security was lax, the pillows were thick and hard, the walls were thin, can hear your neighbors easily, the staff were courteous but they weren’t energetic to greet you, remember it’s a hospitality business, price was expensive for the hotel, it’s Best Western.

Bruntsfield Hotel in Edinburgh...What can I say ?…I couldn’t fault the place, clean, quiet and flipping good breakfast to match. Our “superior” room with its bathroom was huge and spotless. The bed was massive. One downside of our room was that it could’ve done with a bit more clothes storage but...hey ho, it doesn’t hurt to fold up some of your clothes on a seat as long as the wife can hang hers up !!! The staff were brilliant...from the front desk to the breakfast room and bar, nothing was too much trouble for them. The bar and restaurant prices were reasonable too. The hotel is opposite a big green space with lots of local “artisan shops and cafes”. If you’re a plain eater you might find the local restaurants “faddy”...it’s Thai, Indian street food and stuff like that. Depending on your fitness, it’s a strenuous walk into the centre...but the hotel has a cab calling feature, they press a button and hey presto, in 10 mins a cab appears. The cab fares are very reasonable and every cabbie we had was friendliness personified. The Bruntsfield is a superb hotel for your Edinburgh City break. I have no hesitation, due to my own experience, in recommending this place....Well done The Bruntsfield...you made our visit better.
