"Everything was perfectly fine. The staff didn't speak English, as is common in Ecuador, but using Google Translate worked fine. The property is just around the corner from the Planetario, which was worth the quick trip. It is within a 15-minute walk from the Cathedral. I craved junk food while I was there, and McDonald's is a block away. Good salads. The receptionist told me my room was small and offered another, but it was on the ground floor, so - no stairway. I was just a party of one, so...

Me gustaría destacar que es necesario avisar si se lleva carro para reservar un puesto en el parqueo, ya que, una vez guardado, no se puede sacar hasta el día siguiente. "Vila Emilia is a quaint boutique hotel. On my last stay;: - I was made to wait 40 minutes for the eggs for breakfast. - They wouldn't let me leave until they inspected my room as if I was some type of criminal (shame on them). - They have no control of shower water temperature. When everyone is taking a shower in the morning, the water can jump from literally scalding hot to freezing cold in a single minute. I have complained about this detail during each of my two stays here."

"The lodge was very comfortable and the views were spectacular. We could have just sat on the veranda all day. It was secluded but very secure. Beatriz made amazing meals at whatever time we wanted them. Edgar and Beatriz were very accommodating and helpful. "

"The full breakfast was a little on the light side, but the variety and presentation was fine. The one thing I didn't like was that the price I had to pay at the desk was $3 higher than the agreed price on Expedia. I wasn't in the mood to quibble, but it's not a good business practice to tack on a few extra dollars at the last minute."
