"Lovely older, but updated, hotel very convenient to everything in Oban. The only issue was the bathroom. Understanding that rooms and bathrooms were designed by the building, but the bathroom was small. The door had to be opened or closed fully to move into the bathroom. Also the shower was small and if you are a larger person you cannot get into or out of the shower opening. Other rooms did not have this issue. Having said this, we would stay here again if/when we return to Oban."

"Our stay was wonderful! From our arrival and being greeted by Michael, the hotel manager, personally shown to our room and provided with an overview of it's amenities, through our time in lounge / dining room to the end of our two-night stay, we could not have asked for a better combination - comfort, peace and tranquility, yet just a short (about 8 min) drive to Oban for shopping, restaurants and amenities. Celebrating our 20th anniversary, Knipoch House had a calming effect on both of us, especially when we relaxed in our jr. suite with a cocktail overlooking a great view of the mountains and Loch Feochan. This hotel allowed us to combine both relaxation surrounded by nature, with touring and shopping in Oban, a port village with plenty of charm and character, including convenient ferry access to Isle of Mull. Overall, the Knipoch House Hotel is 5 star (by North American standards); our jr. suite was exceptionally appointed following renovations and had above average amenities, including floor heating. hands-free lighting control, new and elegant bathroom fixtures and room decor. The old adage that paying attention to detail certainly applies here. Michael repeatedly made us feel so welcome, as though we were guests in his own home. It was exactly the medicine we needed and more than we hoped for. If it is a being welcomed and pampered you are looking for and time away to destress, look no further. Knipoch House is the place to stay. We'll be returning! "

"Lovely place, quiet and a good size for me with en-suite bathroom. There is an attached pub and beer garden area and a small pub with a stove too. Staff checking us in and pub staff were friendly, helped us order in food and owner told a bit about the renovations and history which hooked me. Only drawback is there is no shared space, waiting or sitting area and no lift. I was glad we booked there and had only one flight to walk! "

"Very dog friendly & reason for booking. Lovely view from verander & front conservatory seating. Short drive to Ganavan Sands which is a lovely sandy beach with loos & a catering van. Comfortable bed & decent shower. There is valet parking but I didn’t book it & glad not to as it’s only about 4 spaces in a small area behind main hotel building. Voices of people speaking there carry very loudly to bedrooms overlooking it. There are a couple disabled spaces & a couple of charging spaces only at front. You can park whilst unloading luggage. Otherwise hotel recommended the free parking behind the scout hut behind the cathedral a short uphill walk away. I parked there for a few hours & so little space to manoeuvre to get out that I didn’t bother again. I found that after hours parking in a space about 100 meters along seafront is free overnight. By putting in my card I discovered it only cost me 20p to park until 910 am next morning. I couldn’t find a way to get the completely free overnight ticket but I think wardens don’t start til 9am anyway. Hotel food was great quality. We had afternoon snacks on the outside veranda, a lovely evening meal & breakfast in the conservatory restaurant. Dogs are ok everywhere in public areas except the grill room. Really v dog friendly. Wld recommend for dog owners. "

"This property has recently been refurbished in some areas and about to shut to complete the job. We had a sea view twin room on the third floor the views were fabulous the room was beautiful & fresh. The shower room was nice, the preventative maintenance does require some work as our shower drain had to be cleaned to prevent other issue however management dealt with everything immediately. We included breakfast turned up just before 10am Saturday and the food was lovely and fresh. The staff were wonderful especially receptionists. Thanks and good luck going forward, would book again, highly recommend."
