Great place to stay, very central to the town, staff were very pleasant and helpful, our room was clean and quite spacious.
So all in all, we had a pleasant stay, at the Argyll, and would visit it again A

Perfect location. This hotel has the potential to be perfect but sadly it’s not. Old, dated and not very clean.
Room was huge but didn’t feel or look clean. Shower had empty bottle from previous resident left in the corner. Shower didn’t drain very well leaving you feeling like you may flood the bathroom.
Check in was easy and the staff nice.

Old-fashioned hotel in the centre of town
Posted 2 Jun 2024 on HotelsThe hotel is conveniently located for the ferry terminal, shops and restaurants. The staff at reception, in the restaurant and the bar were all helpful and friendly. Breakfast was plentiful although the quality of cooked food was average. The food in the Rio restaurant was fine but the service was extremely slow - also there was no red Italian wine on the menu at a restaurant that describes itself as Italian (??). Our room was clean (apart from some mould in the shower) and over-furnished with slightly rickety furniture - the bed was not very comfortable, with very noisy mattress springs. Overall we had a pretty good stay.
