Our family of four enjoyed our stay at the Dunedin Scenic Hotel Southern Cross. We had connecting rooms which made it easy to accommodate us (two primary aged children, my mother and myself). Reasonably comfortable beds, spacious rooms, good shower pressure. Only down fall is no sink in the wee kitchenette, so had to use the bathroom sink to fill jug which wasn’t very big. The connection room was locked when we arrived but quickly fixed. Overall a nice stay and we’d happily stay again

One of the internal sliding windows, which was about 1.5 metres, jumped out of its rails when I was closing it smashed and just about took me out with it, they were so good about it moving us to a superior room, they couldn’t apologise enough, even though I kept saying to the, it’s not your fault these things happen

The only thing to remember is this hotel does not have free parking included however there is a row of council parking out the front that we used and it is freefrom 6pm to 9am. Good customer services. The room was large, warm and the beds were very comfy. Even though its in the CBD there was no noise so great nights sleep. I would stay here again. I booked a twin room for 2 people it met our needs.

The rooms are very large and spacious, with extremely comfortable bed. The location is wonderful. My only dislike is that housekeeping can be improved. They should be checking to make sure that all staples, like toilet paper and Kleenex have been restocked. I should have not had to contact reception to get these items restocked. Otherwise, fabulous room, location, and front end staff!!

My stay was excellent but I did notice that a guy going into a room next to mine who was Asian and then when I came past again another guy (European) was going into the same room. He came straight out and came down the lift with me saying my room already has someone in it.

Cleaning was lacking,lots of dust in areas.Marks and stains on the carpet.Bed was like sleeping on concrete. The place needs to be refurbished and actually make it worth the money that people spend to stay there.
