As the package including hotel was booked via Expedia, arriving at 3AM in the morning, the hotel was booked as of the 3 PM the afternoon later that day...meaning that the first night of arrival was not covered by Expedia. Terrible system from Expedia which I did not notice before arrival. (Please improve your systematic technology when it comes to booking packages in order to avoid further losing credibility of future customers..mine you already lost). The check in clerk was absolutely not willing to convenience the matter and offered the cheapest room for AED 942 for the additional hours of the morning, despite a stay booked for 7 days in that very hotel. Not willing to be caged by the situation, I called the hotel I previously stayed in many times before, and they offered a rate which I could not refuse: without mentioning my name (Royal Continental hotel). Returned later that day to check in and waited about 45 minutes as check-in clerk need all the time in the world and can't obviously handle customers efficiently. Expressed this and not sure if this is being picked up. Rooms are clean and spacious, service teams efficient and friendly and the hotel is very well located. No upgrade or whatsoever was offered by the hotel despite confirmation by Expedia. Seriously considering getting rif of Expedia provided their service records.

I stayed in a Deluxe room which was spacious with a good view. However, the interior decor is out of date. The bath tub is a health and safety hazard. It is high and steep thereby making it difficult to climb out of it and also makes one prone to falling. I had to call out twice for the air conditioning to be fixed as it was malfunctioning.
