Comfortable Room but confusing facilities layout
We were booked in with Best Western but actually had to check in and eat in the Courtyard Marriot. We struggled to get into the parking area as a service lorry and skip were obstructing the entrance. Very confusing as to where we should check in. Our main rooms were in the Best Western Building but everything else was in the Courtyard Marriot building. We were told the only food was the buffet but there was very little left and certainly was not worth 27 EUR each. We then discovered the bar was serving perfectly good pizzas for half this price. Breakfast buffet was much better with plenty of choice. Only 11 min drive to Dresden Airport. I would stay again but maybe in Courtyard Marriot, so everything in the same building.

Short walk to the trams or a 40 minute walk to the old town. Hotel staff are friendly and helped a lot with my limited language skills. Comfortable beds with a struggle to get up in the morning.

Comfortable hotel with good sleep quality
Visiting friends in the locale, we stayed one night at the Marriott Dresden. The location is not great for visiting the city, but not bad, as there are a number of different trams (7 and 8) close by that take about 15 mins to get to the Altstadt. The hotel was comfortable, clean, and quiet, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay again in the future.

Good Value for Money
The hotel is not very central but the location is excellent if you are planning to jog outside or prefer to stay in quiet areas. It's a 10-minute walk to the so-called New City and about half an hour to the Old City where major places of interests are. The hotel is not very big and some of the facilities are shared between Macrander and Marriott, which is nearby. Those are, for example, parking and the gym. As I have mentioned above, if you are into jogging, you will find the area and the hotel runner-friendly as they offer free water and towels in the lobby. Marchander offers excellent breakfast, though quite expensive (15 euros per person). The rooms are of decent size, relatively new and well-furnished. With windows closed, it's very quiet. The rooms are very clean and the hotel offers an interesting special. If you decide not to have your room cleaned, they offer you a 4 euro discount for drinks in their bar.

Not one cup of tea.
The Receptionists are always available, nice and very professional. However, the Hotel in general is in very bad shape and in desperate need of refurbishment. ( December of 2012 ). The room and corridors smell pretty bad and are dusty. The lid of the kettle had quite a dust layer. The same with the TV, desk and chairs. The carpets seem to have a few decades on top of their existence. The parking lot is very small but one can share the Holiday Inn Car Park. Though, when I tried to park the car, I could not find a place and had to park on the main road.
