I shan’t be returning
Posted 22 Nov 2021 on HotelsThe rooms are okay and they are perfect for the price. However, the host did not tell us we would be sharing the house with other guests abs this caused a startle with those we found in the house already.
The gyser was not working and this was on a 9degree Celsius weather where we had to take a night and morning cold shower.
Supper was a disaster: upon arriving at 7pm, we were told there’s no food as they had hosted a group of people earlier and couldn’t cater for us. We managed to get leftover stew guised as curry on dirty tables.
To top it off, the place only starts serving breakfast after 9am; the kitchen staff only arrives at 9 so you get served around 10. Even that breakfast, the eggs were burnt on Saturday, did not offer variety and dare you ask for a second cup of coffee, you’d be slapped with a R24 bill. The chef was injured on her hand with what looked like unsanitary bandage. To top it off, while we were dining, a guest whisks into the kitchen with kiddies diapers to be disposed offand the chef “gladly assists” her- all in full view of us eating.
Overall, I shan’t be going back.

Pros: Good food and beautiful setting.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Drivt 25 kms to Drakensberg gardens where hiking and mountain views were fantastic.Town is 10 minutes away with Spar supermarket
Room was cozy with small fully equipped kitchen, nice bathroom, sofa, and fireplace overlooking a pond. Food was delicious for breakfast and dinner. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
