"Very fun stay at Cotingas, despite the tours we had booked being cancelled because of excessive rain. Needless to say, that was no fault of the hotel but it did mean we spent more time there and realized what a great place it was. Excellent location right next to the town but still quiet; lots of animal sightings, a great view--albeit mostly of rain on this occasion--and very good service from the excellent staff. We want to go back to Drake Bay and do what we could not this time--and when we do we will certainly stay here again."

"The stay was amazing. The host was wonderful and helped us organize dinner reservations and tours. He was very helpful. The rooms were very clean along with the whole property. The breakfast was wonderful and he was very accommodating to our large group. There was a lot of wildlife we saw from the common area including many birds and monkeys. "This is a perfect getaway hotel for couples, friends, and even families. The hotel is incredibly well designed and the staff members are extremely thoughtful and accommodating. I had special dietary needs and they were kind enough to cater to that. You must get the full board, it’s so worth it! Every meal we had at the hotel was excellent. The experience we had at this hotel was truly unmatched. It’s private enough to make you feel secluded from the world but close enough to town for other activities. The hotel offers plenty of activities for multiple fitness levels. We did the night hike with a very passionate guide who not only found us rare wildlife but also taught us so much about the wildlife and plants. Would highly recommend this place and would love to go back "

"First off, the staff at this quaint lodge were hands down amazing. Enrique and Christina took care of all our food and beverage needs and then some! Silvia, the manager, handled all our other needs quickly and made us feel special! The cleaning crew made sure our room was like new every day! Christophe and Sebastian checked in with us daily to make sure everything was going smoothly for us. Christophe even hooked us up with the airport pickup upon our departure and overnight stay in San Jose before leaving Costa Rica. The food stole the show at this location! Unique dishes were presented at each lunch and dinner that combined locally grown foods with a healthy I’d say European flair! Outstanding ~ well done chefs! Even the desserts were a surprise! If I could change anything about the stay it would have been the pillows and having a regular coffee maker in the room! I’m super picky about my pillow tho!!! And the European espresso machines are just not my thing! So really these are minor complaints and a matter of one’s personal taste! Lastly, the property itself is set up high to afford an amazing view of the ocean. Birds are a plenty with Toucans landing on the trees above the pool area. We also got to see the humpback whales on our snorkel tour. If you are looking for a unique, personal experience in a lush location with an ocean view, this is your spot!"
