Watch the mythological beast breathe fire and spit water. Enjoy the dazzling light displays on one of the longest bridges in Vietnam.

The Dragon Bridge provides a feast for the eyes in central Da Nang, with its yellow tail and fearsome head stretching across the Hàn River. The impressive architectural display can even breathe fire and spit water, to the delight of gathering crowds. Capture photos of the yellow beast from the city’s enchanting riverside area.

At night, the illuminated Dragon Bridge is among the most wonderful sights in the city. See the body of the dragon arching over the bridge in a variety of bright colors. Note how the colorful dragon reflects in the water. Take a boat along the river for some of the best views of this impressive structure. Its hues of light change back and forth across the entire color spectrum.

Visit the bridge on weekend evenings to see the spectacular display, as the dragon appears to breathe fire and spit water. Watch the show from a nearby rooftop terrace bar while you sip beer or cocktails on a warm evening.

Dine at some of the restaurants in the area and watch the transformation of the bridge as its lights turn on. Admire the various marble sculptures of animals and deities that adorn this attractive riverside.

Note that construction of the stylish bridge was completed in 2013, with a ceremony of high-profile politicians to celebrate the anniversary of the city’s liberation in 1975. The bridge is 2,185 feet (666 meters) long and has six lanes. Admire the dragon, which locals are said to believe represents power, nobility and good fortune.

The Dragon Bridge is in the central part of Da Nang, providing a link across the Hàn River from Da Nang International Airport. It is often used to reach My Khe Beach and Non Nuoc Beach. Take a bus to one of the many stops in this district. See nearby attractions, such as the Chùa Phổ Đà temple, the Chùa Pháp Lâm temple and the Hàn River Bridge.
