The hotel rooms are very outdated. Upon entering my room it was half the size of any standard hotel room I’ve ever stayed at and I travel a lot for work. Also, the one window inside my initial room was directly aligned to a brick wall and the decor was extremely outdated and had an odor of musky dust. Regardless, the staff at the front desk were extremely nice and accommodated my complaint immediately. For a hotel to be rated 4 Stars, I would ant minimum expect the rooms to be somewhat modern.

The service was very friendly at all levels. There was a self parking lot across the street from the hotel as well as the hotel's valet parking. The room was extra quiet. You heard no noises from outside or the next room. This elegant hotel enhanced the experience by explaining the history and antiques of the property in both paper & electronic formats.

Hotel staff throughout the hotel were friendly and very accommodating. They gave great recommendations when the restaurant we wanted to go to for dessert closed early.
The VIP benefit was not available, as Expedia stated it would be, however the front desk gave us a $15 credit for the onsite restaurant to use. The Hotel is having a promotion right now of offering free deluxe continental breakfast. They also have free snacks (cookies, chips, nutrigrain bars, trail mix, and more) and coffee 24/7. It was a great surprise to our trip.

Sketchy location and poorly trained staff. On the street that the hotel is on, there are groups of homeless sleeping.
We arrived at 3 for a 4 pm check in and were told it was too early to check in- it was policy, despite the fact that the reception area was empty. We had requested a handicapped accessible room because it was larger, but when checking in, the clerk looked at us and asked us if we really needed a handicapped room.
We then were placed in a miniscule room. There was little storage and only two hangers in the closet.
We were gone most of the following day and when we returned at 4 the room was not made up. We asked that the room be made up and were told that the staff was too busy and they were not sure when they would get to it. Housekeeping arrived at 6 as we were getting ready for dinner and we told them just to give us fresh towels.
The next morning we went to breakfast at the hotel (which was pretty good) and arrived to find the room made up before we showered. That meant no clean towels for the next day.
When we checked out, they were unable to provide a receipt as the printer was broken. they did not bother asking how our stay was.
I contacted Wyndham hotels and they said that they were sorry about the circumstances, but the hotel was independently owned and we should contact them directly.
