Quite Cabin

Posted 15 Nov 2017
Pros: Peace and quite.
Cons: it's hard to improve on perfection
Location: This place is for anyone who wants to be close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and doesn't want anything to do with all of the hustle and bustle.
Upon check in we were welcomed and the friendly staff was a nice welcome after a long drive. Check in was quick and easy. The cabin was all we expected. Clean, quite and close to Pigeon Forge. But, you'd never know it while at the cabin. The staff took care of all wedding arrangements and it was a big relief on us.We have decided to spent our anniversaries here

Affordable Cabin in the Smokies

Posted 11 May 2017 on Travelocity
Pros: The cabin we were moved to was very nice. I highly recommend to stay away for The Bare Necessities Cabin!
Cons: Better customer relations.
Location: Plenty to do nearby, but couldn't do anything because of having to leave our cabin unsecured if we left it.
I will NEVER book with this company again as the owner/operator was one of the rudest person I've dealt with. The cabin had no power due to a sever storm that passed through causing outages. We were not informed of this and was told it was a good thing we didn't find it because there was no power. There still wasn't any power when we did find the cabin the next day. We were moved to another cabin and was told that the doors could not be locked due to someone taking the key. We were given a key code and was told to use the side door. We got locked out and was charged $100 for a locksmith to come out and get the door open. No explanation of the fact that we were going to be charged. Just an email of a receipt for $100 charged to my credit card. When I inquired about the fee. I was informed that due to my negligence of locking the doors we ha to pay. We were also double charged for this stay. Once through Travelocity and again by Affordable Cabins of the Smokies. I have had to dispute the charges since the owner/operator chooses to not answer the phone. My recommendation to Travelocity is, stop taking reservations for them, unless you want your reputation to be tarnished.

Exceptional Experience

Posted 1 Feb 2017
Pros: Ease of booking-however I did have to go in-I guess the online signature did not work? VIEWS Safety-alarm
Cons: water in fridge
Location: Pigeon Forge Gatlinburg both within 10-15 minutes
This was last moment, and what a find, great service, and amenities, it was very peaceful, and secure. I cant wait to go back.

Built for people who are not very tall

Posted 16 Jan 2017
Ceiling in bedroom was low. Lots of spiderwebs throughout cabin. Outdoor hot tub was not very appealing. Shower was barely big enough for one person. Otherwise quiet and off the main path.

False advertising

Posted 19 Sep 2016
There was no hot water to take a shower, we had to fix it. We were doing our dishes and the plumbing came unscrewed. We had to fix that. They advertised free activity for each night you stayed. You could get a free show or aquarium visit, bUT when I called we didn't qualify whatever that means. This place sucked. Wold not recommended it. Waste of money.

Our check did not go as expected. Opened our cabin to find it was not cleaned. Linens and towels were sparse. Overall, it could have used some TLC.

Exactly what we wanted

Posted 9 Aug 2016 on Hotels
I booked the Tranquility cabin. Overall, I would rate this cabin a 4.5 (but I highly recommend reading over the contract on their website—they charge a cleaning fee and non-refundable damage deposit). The cabin was easy to locate, secluded, and perfect for us. We checked in by phone and the woman who answered was very pleasant. The cabin looked exactly as I always expected and is located up in the mountains 30 minutes from Pigeon Forge, which was exactly what we wanted. They had a bear theme, which was cute and sophisticated. Furniture was in great shape and comfortable (including the beds). However, the wood frame for the doorway to the washer and dryer had been removed. Cleanliness was just OK. It wasn't dirty per se, but it hadn't been dusted in a LONG time. It set off my allergies and I had to use my inhaler. There were piles of dead bugs in the corners. Lightbulbs needed to be replaced. A wet washcloth was decoratively tucked into a towel. And we found dirty boxers under the bed. All in all, it was a charming cabin that lived up to its name. I'm already planning another longer stay near the holidays.
