"We stayed in Helena, it was very clean and well equipped. Concern about escape routes in the event of a fire. Some rooms didn’t have a large enough window to get out of. Swimming pool great, as was the hot tub. Lovely setting near Blandford. Would recommend getting shopping delivered as quite remote. "

"A group of us stayed for a weekend around a wedding. Excellent communication from booking onwards. A couple of tiny niggles were sorted straight away Everything was clean and we all had enough room (not your typical holiday let without enough room to open a suitcase)"

"The owners were friendly, and attentive, but the property I felt was too expensive for what it was, there was no shower gel or anything in the bathrooms. There wasn’t a bin bin bag to collect rubbish. There were cobwebs and number of Rooms the black leather sofa was old and worn out and not very comfortable so although the setting was nice it did look like somewhere that the owners were trying to get out of as they told us there were selling up. "It might sound like a cliché and a bit over the top but I think this is one of the best hotels in the world. The location is great, ample parking, the location next to the river gives the hotel a great atmosphere. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and the service matches, even when the restaurant is very busy. A nightcap after dinner on the terrace by the river on a warm summer evening! What more could you want? Highly recommended!"

Nice hotel, wonderful location

"Lovely hotel with friendly staff in great location. It has recently been taken over by new management and they are planning on tidying it up, which it needs in some areas. (For example frayed carpet on stairs.) But the room was comfortable and we were upgraded for free to a bigger room as there was space. Trevor and Scott were both ver helpful. Location perfect and next to some great restaurants and bars."

"Great budget b&b not too far to walk to the Beach or Harbour, Easy check in, Peter was very helpful. Limited free parking on the front of the property, we managed to park 2 out of the 3 days we were there, the other day I was able to park overnight on the street. The room was clean and perfect for our short stay. There was a small issue with a leaky toilet but Peter was well aware and had it fixed before we left. I would definitely recommend and stay here again."

Fabulous Hotel

"This is our third stay in this lovely hotel. I love it, they’re so friendly, very welcoming. It’s so close to all amenities & the harbour. My only criticism was that they no longer offer a parking permit or concession for the bays outside the front. I have a blue badge and my husband had to park the car in the Pavilion at a cost of £15 per day. "
