Le Grand may be better named, "Le Marginal"
In all honesty, all the things you usually look for in a moderately priced hotel were present. The room was ultra-spacious. There was lots of closet space. It was quiet all night. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. So what's not to love??? This is where I realize that there are little things that mean a lot. The room was so dark. The tiny window in this cavern of a room looked out on a wing of the hotel so little sunlight came in. Limited electric lighting left you feeling like you had Seasonal Affective Disorder. Requests for assistance from the front desk (help finding a local tour operator / request for a towel that wasn't replaced) required two or three reminders. The location was not terribly far (via taxi) from anything but wasn't close to anything. Middle Eastern hotels generally have great breakfast buffets (eggs, cheeses, breads, beans, hoummus, vegetables, etc.). The breakfast buffet was deplorable. Everything was cold and was in limited supply if there was anything. In summary, it was an okay place to rest for the night, but if you had plans of spending more than 15 minutes of your evening in your room doing anything but sleeping, it was depressing. I would rather get a cheaper hotel and just sleep there or get a more expensive hotel and enjoy my hour in the evening reading or relaxing in the room.
