I very much enjoyed my stay. Very large and comfortable room. Very clean. Friendly staff. Layout is slightly confusing, but they had someone show me the way the first time. Will happily stay there again.

Excellent Hotel

The hotel is centrally located. Beautiful room with more than you need. The hotel was accommodating and allowed me to park my car within their grounds. Would definitely stay again.

A Hotel with genuine character

Posted 3 Dec 2016 on Hotels
I stayed here on business for six nights; the hotel is clean and obviously well run. The staff were always attentive, friendly and helpful, despite not all speaking English. Moreover this hotel has real character and charm with a subtle styling hangover from the Soviet era. All combined to make for a truly memorable, pleasant trip.

A little quirky in some areas, but can't complain

Posted 9 Nov 2016
Pros: Warmth, WiFi, spacious room, hot water, TV channels, location, breakfast, exterior styling
Cons: What is the point of that lift?!
Location: Everywhere you look, there's a bank! The main road with choice of shops and tourist attractions, coffee shops in back streets, and great park areas.
The staff were friendly and helpful but really struggled with English. Reception were fine but security looked panicked the spoken too, which was fun in a way. Good spacious room, very hot water in the bathroom, reasonable TV channel selection, good WiFi although it did drop out one evening, but I hear that's a problem in Dnipro generally, especially when it rains! Many flights of steps and a lift which doesn't really cut much of it out - you climb steps to get to it, and then climb some more to get to your floor - most odd. I paid extra for breakfast, but as hotel breakfasts go, I personally preferred this to any other place I've stayed at, not only in Ukraine. There are two Grand Hotels in Dnipro, so make sure your taxi takes you to the right one! In a neighbouring street, there were a few stray dogs which were a little yappy one evening, but otherwise a fairly quiet area, only a short walk from a park and shops. The room was comfortably warm at all times - great for the November chills. They arranged a transfer to and from the airport for me, and he was a very friendly chap, and his price was even more friendly! All in all, there's nothing really wrong with this hotel if your healthy enough to deal with the steps. I'd be more than happy to stay here again if the IKEA-showroom-esque Reikartz is unavailable next time, if not else but to tease security with nursery rhymes!

Very budget oriented rooms.

We stayed in the end of May, it was not hot. Room has NO Air Conditioner. Windows are restricted with suspended ceiling - windows are taller - could hardly open any of them. Shower head was terrible - very weak water stream. Beds were Ok though too narrow for my taste. Also there is no garbage can in the room.

Poor service, Poor condition of facilites

Posted 23 Nov 2015
The staff were not helpful. The bellhop did not bother to offer to help me with my bags when I arrived. Later, I asked the same man for a taxi. He simply pointed to the front door. This was not only not helpful, but rude. I needed help with booking a train ticket. All I needed the receptionist to do was help me navigate the website as it was in Russian and I do not speak Russian. She said she was not able to do that for me. I told her I would use my credit card to pay for it, I just needed her help in filling out the options. She refused. I had some clothing laundered. My slacks looked just as wrinkled after they ironed them as when I gave them to them. My guest and I had breakfast the first day. When they brought it out, they only brought breakfast for one. When we asked the waitress for a second, she said we had to talk to the manager. Seriously? If there are two guests in a room, that would mean TWO breakfasts, yes? The biggest issue were the stairs. To get up into the main floor you have to climb three flights. Then another three of four depending on where your room is. There is an elevator but it only takes you up one flight of stairs. Pretty useless. The hallways are atrocious. The carpeting needs to be replaced. It looks as if it has not been cleaned in 10 years. I booked a suite. There is an expectation that the furnishings and amenities will be above average. The furniture was cheap and junky looking. There was nothing in the fridge, no minibar.
