Someone that work at the property (I think someone working housekeeping) stole $100 out of my purse that was in the room. I reported it to the property and they asked me if I used the safe and I told them that my partner did and that my money was stolen out of my purse that was in the room. They told me that it is rare and I should have used the safe. How terrible. No apology or anything. I shouldn’t have to take every dollar out of my purse and lock it away everytime I return back to the resort. I was there celebrating my birthday not being a guard for my personal belongings inside of my a room I paid thousands for. Will never visit this resort again!! And what a shame because the kitchen staff were so nice

The guest did not report to us until they were back home in the USA. Had this been reported to us before departure it would have received the appropriate attention. Furthermore when asked, they confirmed that the purse from which the money was taken was never in the safe that is provided for storage of money and valuables.

All the staff were professional, polite and very graceful. The front desk ,the bar service and the dining staff both for breakfast and dinner were friendly and very personable. I appreciated that they moved us to a suite (to accommodate one more person ) and upon welcoming me us there was a sign at the main entrance with my family’s name and our USA flag welcoming us. That was quite surprising and a great touch. Will definitely recommend and stay again. Best PEREZ/ USA

My stay at the Pinewood was amazing. Although the public areas are a little bit dated the quality of the rooms and the exceptional service by all the staff was above my expectations. From the gardeners to the chefs everyone goes out of their way to make your stay very memorable. I am sure if you choose the Pinewood you won’t be disappointed. I will return for sure! Great job everyone, especially the owner for creating such a special place with special people.

A tranquil stay in beautiful surroundings. Excellent communal areas, easy access to good beach. High standard and good choice of food for half board. Good selection available for other meals if required. Reasonable prices for drinks. Convenient transfer back to local airstrip. A small, well appointed boutique hotel. Best of all, excellent staff and service.

2. Good facilities
3. Nice food especially dinner time.
Generally perfect place for relaxation.
Need to improve
1. Internet is slow
2. Spa needs to be expanded.

Be aware of Credit Card Fraud
Posted 23 Apr 2020 on HotelsWe where 2 couples that stayed 4 nights at Pinewood in end of February . Location, food, staff attention and infrastructure is top notch. UNFORTUNATELY, the experience was completely destroyed when we returned home to Norway and learned that we had been charged twice for the stay on our cards. Immediately, we contacted the hotel in good faith and asked them to refund us. After 8 weeks with several e-mails and phones we have not received the refund as promised by the Hotel Resident Manager Pamela Mshai. Consequently, we where left with no other choice than to report the case as fraud to bank and fiscal police.

Thanks for your feedback. I am sorry your card was charged twice and for the delayed refund. As communicated on email with our accounts department your refund was effected on April 27, 2020 and on April 29, 2020 for Mr. Glenn. Once again, apologies for the inconvenience.
