Overall, the hotel is like a museum and a tribute to the prior greatness of Detroit. Older appointed rooms but our room service was fantastic. Restaurant folks were ok too. My experience with the reception, however, was like I was traveling in a third-world country. Crystal was so unfriendly, uncooperative and rude that she would certainly benefit from a customer service training! She was not helpful with my request to move to another room (which I understand if there is full occupancy) but she did not make any effort and showed no compassion or care. I left the reception desk feeling humiliated. When I was checking out (again with Crystal) I felt humiliated again by the way she handled the payment. She abused her power and took advantage of being in charge by being very rude and domineering. I am sorry to have experienced such treatment. am a Bonvoy member and I will be very careful with bonvoy bookings now. This damaged the Bonvoy brand name a lot for me. Please train your receptionists to be caring enough.
