"We loved our stay at Rakuyu! The property is clean with a restful and calming ambience. The lobby/front lounge area is beautifully appointed, with the most amazing view of Lake Kawaguchiko, also shared by the rooms. The public onsen seemed like a really nice amenity, but we did not use it as we booked the private one, which was a lovely experience. In addition, the included breakfast, tea time, and cocktail hr offerings were amazing! The food and drinks were great, with a ton of variety. The location is very convenient; it is right next to the Panoramic Ropeway and a short walk into town. We arrived within the time the shuttle was not picking up from the train station and did have to trek uphill to get there ourselves, but it is definitely doable, if not the most pleasant in late June heat and humidity. We were able to take advantage of the ride back to the station on our way out, which was quick and convenient. In short, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend to others as well as come back ourselves!"

A word of caution: the resort is a fair distance away from Kawaguchiko and it was difficult for us to find taxis consistently. So if you plan on staying primarily at the resort it’s not a problem but if you’re a “get out and about” type of traveler be prepared. "
