"Our first time exploring Cape Breton and we made this our base for a few days. We were expecting it be rustic and it sure was - a real old-style beach cabin. The plumbing had a few issues but it delivered hot water no problem. The kitchen is the front entry so a bit crowded. Still, we had a great stay. "If you like solitude and nature, Big Intervale will give you that! The property is beautiful and off the beaten path. There are no services nearby so if you’re visiting off season, be sure to gas up and bring your toothbrush and snacks. It’s a good 20-30 minutes on a dirt road to get in or out of the cabins. The owners were welcoming and accommodating. "
