"There are 3 non-camping places to stay in Sossusvlei, Desert Camp, Desert Quiver and the Sossusvlei Lodge. They are all owned by the same company. All meals are taken at the Sossusvlei Lodge 2-3 kms down the road. There is no internet at Desert Quiver. There is a nice swimming pool but one needs to drive to it. The rooms are very nice, however. "For couples rooms, there should be one double mattress to improve in comfort, our room had two separate ones placed together with a gap inbetween. We didn't know that we had to pre-book game drives and missed the afternoon one which we had rushed to check in in good time to be able to join but were told it was fully booked. Aside the above, all was excellent. "

"All the staff here are exceptional ( friendly and very helpful). Food in the evening meal differed each night and was fantastic local fare. Yvonne the manager went far beyond and out of her way to make us feel welcome and helped us sort out our broken down vehicle. We will absolutely stay here again and highly recommend thos fortuitous find. Campsites also look good with shade power and water."

"We hadn't originally intended staying in Solitaire, but rescheduling issues meant we slotted this lodge in at the last minute. I hadn't been optimistic about what we'd find - after all, Solitaire is a small, very remote place. But I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and helpful; the rooms comfortable, a good size and in excellent condition; the restaurant area is terrific and the food very good; the surroundings are quite charming, with a scattered collection of old cars....

"Had an amazing 2 night stay here, the location is incredible, set against the mountains with an endless view across the desert. Staff are super friendly and welcoming, rooms are great with good AC, especially liked the terrace off the room where you can watch the sunset, sunsets here are incredible. The breakfast and dinner was ok, not amazing, but the location and staff made up for the food quality. "
