Hotel a very strange layout, having to drive around back and forth to room and restaurant.
Very limited menu, and the beer ran out, so all that was available was a 330ml bottle of lager at £4.50, with no discount cause they ran out of beer, I wasn’t the only one who asked, and so no one bought any bottles, at that extremely inflated price. Menu was very basic and most items not available, had the burger which was 5/10.
Rooms are lovely, just the bar restaurant staff and service was poor, had to go up to the bar to order food, as I had been waiting 15 minutes , after the lady didn’t come back, so just had one course as it was getting late, and didn’t want to waste all night in there

I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed in your recent stay, as you can see from other reviews, most of our guests have a very different experience.We do have a slightly quirky layout as our bedrooms are located either in our 17th century farmhouse or in one of the converted barns or original farm buildings. However, all of the rooms can be reached on foot in under 3 minutes (which is a lot nearer to the facilities than rooms may be in a large corporate hotel) Having spoken with the staff that were working on Wednesday evening, it would appear that 3 items from our menu were not available on the day which I agree is unfortunate. This does happen occasionally if something has been popular, I believe that there were several specials on offer along side the menu so there should have been plenty of choice. We aim to serve everyone in a welcoming and friendly manner so I apologise if you don't feel that you received this service. The beer keg did run out during the evening and staff served bottled lager instead of draught. We sold several bottles at the regular bottle price which is cheaper than a pint of draught. Lovely food that was good value and tasty.

The hotel staff are very helpful and the room was lovely. Evening meal was good, although it would have been better to have more venison options ie. Burger? as the meat was promoted in other ways. Breakfast was disappointing, scrambled eggs dry and tasteless, on wholemeal bread when advertised as granary
