I want to be fair when I make this review because overall it’s a nice hotel with great staff.
However , there were issues.
1- the main restaurant was closed for refurbishment and you could only use Pier 8 , that said, Pier 8 is in a fantastic location.
2- the hotel is being refurbished throughout and it’s my understanding that the pool and Pier 8 will be refurbished in Jan 25.
3- the hot water in our room was cold /tepid for most of our stay until we were told to let it run for 5 minutes first and even then it was only warm.
4- Normally in a hotel you put down a deposit and pay the rest when leaving . In this case you put down $400.00 and they then text you to say you have exceeded the amount and please put down more. This was first for me.
5- the hotel feels disjointed with a huge pond in the middle with no access around it. Essentially you have the front reception and then the pool and beach side restaurant.
6- not overly friendly reception staff.
The positives.
1- nice room with large balcony / second living area.
2- nice breakfast
3- great restaurant and pool staff.
4- nice pool if somewhat very hot to sit around and very warm water.
5-great location.
In summary I would stay again , however ,wait until all the refurbishment is done.

This property is about to udergo an upgrade so maintenance is not being done. 2 lifts out of action, gym machines out of action. Main restaurant out of action. Overall better options elsewhere for the money spent.

The F&B staff completely incompetent. Really polite staff but just couldn’t do the job or insufficient training. Waiting over 40mins for
Breakfast and poached eggs turned up as boiled go on and on but F&B was terrible.
I also fell outside at the front entrance as water everywhere without appropriate signage I said at checkout experience wasn’t good the staff didn’t have the decency to ask why!! Enough said to be honest.

Great location and wonderful staff. The team there are friendly and could not do more to help.
The property is overall very tired and needs real work to get it up to a proper standard. The hot water is hit and miss, the decking areas are in poor repair and tripping hazards are everywhere. The sheets and pillow cases should be changed more frequently, shower supplies are not replenished and tiles in the bathroom are literally crumbling away. We will not be back to this hotel any time soon and would rate the overall experience as far short of the cost of it. This is at best a 3.5 star location for us. The cost of our stay was simply far too expensive for the experience that we had.
We cannot praise the staff enough here. They were all warm, welcoming and personable at every turn. We shall call in to say hello and thank them again for their kindness and hard work next time we are in Bali.
We will not be staying with any InterContinental properties in the future after this experience.
